Radar is fine. No BR is ok. FFA spawns? who cares?

Radar is fine.
"radar should be a last minute resort, not a crutch."

  • learn to talk and callout to your team mates. - be aware of the spawns. - learn the routes/movement patterns of the other team. - learn the choke points for each map. With that being said, I have no complaints.
Sure it’d be nice if it was bigger, but if 343i left it alone, I wouldn’t mind.
In the past Halo games, you could win by watching your radar 60% of the time, and looking at the screen 40% of the time. This is FACT.
18m of radar is the closest thing to playing “Hardcore” mode (no radar) which encourages teamwork/awareness.

No BR start is ok.
Halo 5’s pistol/AR start felt like a throwback to Halo CE. Pistol is still amazing compared to previous games. I love the BR, loved it since Halo 2 and still prefer it over the DMR. With that being said, I’m just fine with pistol start and having to pick up the BR. Isn’t half the strategy for a team deciding how and who gets the BR? Especially in Breakout.

FFA spawns? who cares?
…People actually play FFA and expect games to be “fair”?

As far as I can remember Rumble Pit always had pretty good spawns so I can understand people’s frustration now. So many aspects Halo are deteriorating under 343’s supervision.

BR starts are just boring to me. The BR is way too easy in this game, while the Magnum isn’t.

We don’t have RADAR in Halo , Never Have. It’s called Motion Tracker 2 totally different things

Spartans don’t transmit radio waves. And if we did radar would pick up all object on map

Your God has nothing to do with this

-Said to the non-religious man.

My problems with the radar stem more from the larger gametypes like BTB. No reason for it to be so small when the maps are fairly large. Also camo should definitely show up on radar. Camo is already pretty beast in this game. One more thing, the fact that you run faster with the sword in combination with the lunge means you don’t even show up another persons radar until you are in the process of stick a sword up their -Yoink-! I know you can hear foot steps, but not when you are shooting at someone else.

I don’t mind the NO BR, but I’d still like to see some more variation. Maybe Team Rifles like the Halo 2 days? Team Autos? DMR/Carbine start for Swat? I don’t want ever game to be BR start, I’d just like to have the option every once and while.

FFA spawns in previous games were much better. Anyone else feel like there is just not enough spawn points? Like I swear there are only 6-10 spawn points per map. I’m constantly spawning in the same spot.

This has been posted before…

Here was my response about the radar:

Your argument falls apart at the first point. Not everyone plays with friends or mics. I mostly play solo.

Your third point is only possible if the advice from the first point is used. Without communication the gimped radar does not allow you to control the map as well.

Choke points are a valid argument, but hard to execute due to the op grenade spam.

The issue with the radar is that it is not only short but also inconsistent. It’s current range does not suit Halo 5’s gameplay mechanics.

Here is a more detailed Look.

obviously…no one cares

Radar is not fine, the fact is that it’s broken. Being aware of spawns has nothing to do with this, I’ve seen plenty of games where enemy’s have spawned in the worst places because there not always predictable…this is why so many people have to deal with spawn killing. It’s pretty lazy excuse to blame peoples lack of knowledge on map control or spawn-kill points just because the radar doesn’t work.

The radars there for a reason to check on enemy movements…if that isn’t working correctly then the feature becomes useless, I’ve seen plenty of people in-game that ignore the radar and have frequently died because of this. If I’m in-game chat I call-out sometimes, I have a good understanding of where maps spawn but that does NOT warrant putting up with a broken feature. If you don’t want people to care about radars then play a game-type that doesn’t include radars because it’s pointless trying to tell people to use a feature that is designed to help players. Shorting the radar is NOT encouraging team-work, I’ve yet to see anyone hardly ever mentioning anything about map control in-game unless it refers to AI boss’s.
