"radar should be a last minute resort, not a crutch."
- learn to talk and callout to your team mates. - be aware of the spawns. - learn the routes/movement patterns of the other team. - learn the choke points for each map. With that being said, I have no complaints.
Sure it’d be nice if it was bigger, but if 343i left it alone, I wouldn’t mind.
In the past Halo games, you could win by watching your radar 60% of the time, and looking at the screen 40% of the time. This is FACT.
18m of radar is the closest thing to playing “Hardcore” mode (no radar) which encourages teamwork/awareness.
Your argument falls apart at the first point. Not everyone plays with friends or mics. I mostly play solo.
Your third point is only possible if the advice from the first point is used. Without communication the gimped radar does not allow you to control the map as well.
Choke points are a valid argument, but hard to execute due to the op grenade spam.
The issue with the radar is that it is not only short but also inconsistent. It’s current range does not suit Halo 5’s gameplay mechanics.
Here is a more detailed Look.
That’s anything but true… stop being blind with denial.

Cool opinion man. Now tell me how you think my room looks, because you’ve obviously been in there for every game of every halo I’ve ever played in order to know how much I stare at the radar.
Radar is useless in its current state. Part of the reason why I stopped playing this Halo.
It’s okay to complain about 343i’s mistakes, that’s how things get changed.
Not everything they do is perfect
For those who wanted to play “hardcore”, Halo 3 and Reach had an MLG playlist (never played Halo 2 online, so I wouldn’t know about that one).
All the other playlists had the standard 25m motion sensor. It worked fine back then and it would work fine now. Some friends and I even tested it out in custom games, and 25m for the motion sensor works great.
Not everyone wants to play “hardcore”, so forcing people into a middle ground between it and regular is not right.

OP I love you for how blunt you are, do you care if I add you? I’ve been looking for more people who actually appreciate the changes that have been made for halo 5 to play with vs my usual group of friends who moan and complain about how other halos were better.
your arguments are valid in h1, h2 and h3 ,but in halo 5 the spartans runs very fast and the rada never work, because neve prevent you in time

It didn’t work back then. The population was really low in the MLG playlist. I appreciated their settings and game modes much more than Bungie’s but I never played it, because I felt like I would let my teammates down if I do bad alone, or I play with friends and being able to rely on Radar is nice if you don’t want to count on callouts all the time.
343 did the middle ground. You can say it’s more hardcore, but I say it’s letting players play with good Halo-esque game modes without the MLG feeling to it. By extending the range, all you are doing is splitting the population up again because it will force them to change the settings again as per usual.
Yes I need my extended Radar, but I like that it’s a collaboration between Radar and no Radar.
I feel like it would beneificial though to have a voting system (not for gametypes but for Radar) that let’s majority choose and if it’s a tie, it does the smaller radar range as the middle ground.

Having the MLG settings was for people who wanted no radar. The fact that the MLG playlists had low populations shows that not everyone wants to play that way. If you feel you couldn’t play without it then you didn’t have to. There was absolutely nothing wrong with 25m.
Also, the fact that some friends and I tested the 25m motion sensor in Halo 5 showed that it would work great. We tested it on different maps, and it was still perfect.
I agree. Too much complaining on the forums.
This has got to be a joke.

and your results are where?
While I do agree with your tips and imply them in my gameplay daily I disagree with opioin on the motion censor.
Sure the motion censor is fine, but how is it better? You do liitle to persuade me to agree with your opinion. Stating opinions as facts and even go as far to compare current “radar” function to “Hardcore” mode.
In past halo games your motion censor was one of your most useful tools, and with all the inscreased movement and agility how does decreasing it’s effective range make the gameplay better?
Some will say this promotes engaments and ambushes while others say it’s became useless. For me it’s became useless I rarely ever look at it maybe once and awhile to see if a attacker is still chasing while I flee to recharge. People still camp maybe even more now then past games atleast from my observations.
I just don’t see the positives from reducing it’s effective range and would prefer 343i revert back to 25m of past games or 30m from the beta.
Thats just other opinion on a very opinionated matter plz post you comments and thoughts about “radar” motion censors effective range
also would like 343i to add a pro playlist with no motion censor.

I don’t know what you’re expecting, a spreadsheet? A pie chart? A freakin’ PowerPoint?
I’m saying me and some friends played it and it worked well. We invited others from our friends lists and they liked the change as well.
Even recent players that we invited from random online matches enjoyed the change.
The problem is more the motion sensor than the range. you don’t show up unless you are either sprinting or shooting. If you are hiding in a corner or walking you don’t show up. I’ve lost count of the times. I’ve literally ran into people rounding a corner because they were walking and so was I and neither of us knew it until we bumped into each other COD style.
I wish they would just remove the radar, problem solved.
The vast majority of players don’t know any of that stuff, only hardcore players are going to memorize spawns and movement paths. :\

If it’s fact, then why can’t I find studies that back up your quoted numbers?
Unless you arbitrarily made them up…
343 should not be forcing the entire game’s fanbase to play competitively.
This game is too far skewed into catering to the competitive audience while Halo has always been about striking a balance between competitive and casual social play.
Warzone is not a very fun gamemode and arena is not welcoming for social players, they should have launched a mirror playlist of arena with 25m radars and no ranks.
