I played 4 or 5 games of the multiplayer, and I must say, the radar is almost useless. They don’t show up until you’re in kissing range, which is a huge issue. i can’t turn around in time after i realize there are three of them behind me, but when I realize, they’ve already melee’d me. I use my radar all the time, and in this game, you might as well not even have it. Also, it doesn’t tell you whether they are above or below you, so while they’re on a perch that they teleported to somehow shooting you, you’re trying to find where they are, looking every which way, then you die. They need to extend the range that the radar detects, and have it tell you if they are above or below.
Yep, Radar is meant to create gun battles but at this range it just tells you that you’re getting shot. This is one of the main reasons I never played Halo 5 Arena because I always felt I needed to go into matches with a group and call out all the time and considering I’m a solo player it was horrible.
i personally dont mind the range but also couldnt care if it was upped another 5 meeters. 100% agree with you on the height indicator

Had the same feeling about radar, sometimes i’m at a spot and nothing happen, then 3 ennemies poping in my back and i can’t do anything, i just die freely
I played the previous flight, and prefer the way the radar was last time. I agree the range on it now is way too short.
I would rather not even have it at this point. Years and years of playing Halo make me instantly focus on the red dot and now if feels like it’s distracting me from situational awareness. Would prefer mlg style and just can it all together.
Agreed. Something isn’t right. I
I’ve had people essentially run around a corner in the 0.1 of a second I glanced away from the radar and never shown up. It feels like it stops working sometimes, as I’ve seen dots on my radar much further away than the range it they could possibly have been in.
I’m going with bug.
I wish they would just remove the radar all together. Radar promotes camping and way less movement on the maps.

Height indicator is pretty bad - there is an ‘indication’ of whether someone is above/below you or on the same level. If they are level with you, the red dot on the radar is brighter, and if they are above/below it is darker; less prominent. Its really hard to notice in the heat of a battle and even on PC when you’re sitting inches away from the screen you can barely notice, I can imagine on Xbox it will be impossible to quickly determine height of an enemy.

Honestly I felt like I had the same issue.
The radar now is useless. It takes away the fun from Halo’s gameplay in planning out engagements intelligently rather than just getting surprised like COD. I really hope 343 fixes this problem before launch. It should be 25m again like Halo 3.
I was so frustrated with the radar range I hadn’t realized I was frustrated with radar function until this post. Height indication is a must.
