I still confused how radar works, does it work like in other halos, showing any kind of movement, or just when they run and shot?
The footsteps sounds are really bad I can’t really tell what direction they are coming from, or hear them at all until is too late or when he is right on my back, it can be complete silence on the map, but someone manages to appear right on me, running! can’t hear him at all!
What the hell happen with controller support?! it does not fell anything like the other halos I played, there is no kind of aimassist at all now? and why when I’m trying to shoot a player I turn and my aim goes to the other side of the map, I did change the settings for the controller but nothing seems to help, while in Halo 4 for example I can easly stop my crosshair on the enemy body and shot and maintain the aim on him if is a automatic, but here is a miracle to maintain. edit: never mind, it happens on training too, but on pvp is all the time
They need, to up the aim assist, be loud about this, a lot of people complained about it in the first flight, but they didnt mention the feedback.

Okey here’s another one then XD
They have so many halo games to base on for the controller how it should work, my favorite is halo 4, is so nice to play there, I don’t need to break my fingers to aim and is very relaxing… So how they manage this ?! halo 5 was kinda weird I stoped playing that one completly
Maybe because they want halo to be more a PC game now? because of battlefield and call of duty?
They probably saw Warzone, people complaning about the aim assist… no… dont take any example from those games 343, they are not good examples for you, take the examples from the other Halo games you have (whispers: halo 4 controller settings hehe)
Yeah, radar is weird. Even when someone is shooting it’s not showing up on the radar. Either the radar is shortened or it’s glitched. Also, the lack of radar when someone moves is just weird. I kept getting jumped on and I’m confident they weren’t crouched in the corner just waiting. Well, it was that or bad spawns. I did get a couple of kills spawning behind an enemy. If so that needs to be fixed.

I don’t understand the radar this flight either. I actually really liked it last flight.
Aim assist definitely needs some tuning. On some guns like the BR it feels fine, but on weapons like the Commando and Sidekick it almost feels like there is zero aim assist at all. The sidekick in particular feels like it needs those values to be tuned.
I know a lot of hardcore sweaty has-been MLG pros are probably happy about less aim assist, and I bet the same goes for the PC/M+KB community, but I think this is a real issue that needs addressing. Casual players are going to be turned off by their inability to aim at all, and when going against M+KB players it feels like you’re at a MASSIVE disadvantage. They have the ability to pepper you across the map with the Sidekick, but it’s really really hard to do on controller right now.
it’s going to be a controversial option on this forum I bet because of how it skews more hardcore, but aim assist definitely needs to be turned up a bit. I’ll be fine. I’ll adjust and get used to it. Worst cast scenario I’ll just plug in a M+KB myself, but I think the current values will turn off a lot of the more casual fans. That community, likely the majority of player come launch day, definitely needs more consideration.
Aim assist feels non existent. Idk what pushed them to punish the player base that has stuck with Halo since its inception in 2001 but this sucks. Seriously 343, this aint it chief.

I fear that pro team might be a bad influence for the more casual experience

it’s not just an issue with controller. I play on M&K and the level of precision required feels like that of CSGO and valorant when it comes to your shots actually registering as headshots. Playing the multiplayer matchmaking just now made me wonder if i was doing something completely wrong - i’m a halo vet and a semi sweaty gamer and i felt like i was doing consistently garbage despite approaching it with a firm HALO mindset.

I think that’s because the game has little to no bullet magnetism, which is a totally different topic and frankly I think is a really good thing. More aim assist would be nice, but the current leveL of bullet magnetism is fine to me. It rewards precision.
I totally agree on the aim assist. I might be wrong, but it even feels like they’ve changed it since the july Tech Preview. The only weapon that feels good is the BR which unfortunately isn’t the standard start weapon what I also don’t get…why not make it the main weapon again???
But coming back to aim assist: While I really enjoyed the July Tech Preview where I had the feeling that the aiming was comparable to MCC / H2 Anniversary which is pretty perfect in my oppinion, it now feels back to H5 aim which is…a mess at best. It feels wobbly and unprecise and aiming with the Sidekick has become a real pain. I also had the feeling that it defers a lot based on connection, giving any non-US-player playing against US a massive disadvantage. I don’t know if it actually has been touched since july, but comparing how I was able to aim in July (against Bots) to now, it feels off.
My suggestion would definetely be going for a more MCC like aiming / aim assist because right now, I’d probably stick with Campagne and skip MP altogether or try playing with Mouse/Keyboard to compensate.
I’m getting more kills the longer I play, but with that I get a big real headache, not joking. Really need to fix that aim assist
I’m no pro, im casual, I want to have fun, PvP was always fun on old halo games even for casual players, on this one is not at this moment
and I’m playing on PC, and I still use the controller for halo because mouse and keyboard for halo never worked for me, and now is just giving me a bad time (and a headache)
