Radar & Active Camo

I feel like it’s relatively too overpowered.

It’s very strong - and that I like, but it does not flare my radar nor enemy radars up. I liked this from old Halo, it felt like a balancing factor to let someone know people were sneaking around and to discourage someone with camo from watching radar while in a corner.

This should make a return. It will balance the very effective cloaking and make it harder to abuse the radar.

I disagree, completely.

Excellent comment with zero context behind your opinion.

10/10.

I can agree. Either you need to still appear on motion tracker, as it’s not a radar but tracks motion ergo the name, or at least bring back the footsteps when in camo. This camo is really good and be hard to see, so I’d be fine with the bringing back these two features to camo. Or make them options for custom games etc.

I’ve clearly outlined my opinion on this topic in the dozen threads like it. I have explanation burnout. I still disagree.

I find that camo is not very good. In ranked (where there is no radar), if I pop camo, it does very little for me. Maybe it’s just because I’m playing with mostly diamond players but I went from being able to always camo cap the flag to now dying nearly every attempt, easily getting shot for one and then from there getting locked onto and wiped.

Also the entire purpose of camo is the element of surprise. Radar negates that completely. Active camo solo vs a decent team doesn’t do much.

How would adding camo on radar not just defeat the purpose? Should we nerf overshield split it into 2? One to add extra shields against plasma only? Or one just for human weapons? Doesn’t that sound silly?

It’s always been like that, and either requires slow walking or croutching.

I find camo with central location to mark enemies for the team usually effective vs trying to get a stealth kill myself.

That doesn’t make it right or good.

Right, I just mean it only gives you the drop once if they aren’t playing well as a team. Basically no matter what you do, you’re going to get lit up as soon as you attack. At a minimum you’re giving away your location.

…which is how sniping should work, but scope glare can be seen from space.

This active camo/radar Jam was from halo reach and was ok, I liked the idea of having two equipments mashed into one ability in halo reach. The thing is though camo was like this in halo 2 and 3 and honestly it’s not that bad at all. Halo veterans can easily spot someone whos walking and have camo on, my eyes are trained to see this and I can glady say that my old eyes and reflexes are still up to par with halo nearly 20 years later when I first played. Right now it’s a new game with old learning curves we all know and these learning curves will be learned by the noobs too. Its a pain but you’ll get there just like we all did.

I agree. I hate lens flare also.
