Ok, I’m a machinima director from England and I’m playing the global championship to at least compete. I’m not the best player but I’m pretty good.
I know when people should die.
I can’t play this racist game unless its before 8pm my time or the games are constantly hosted on American servers causing the most unfair and blatant latency of all time.
It’s racist to the degree that these game developers only give a -Yoink- about their own Yoinking country, no one else because that’s the majority.
That’s -Yoink- because I have loved halo all my life but I can’t do -Yoink- all in this apparent competition because its a racist matchmaking system because they give a -Yoink- about no-one but most of you guys.
-Yoink- the little people. I’ll get banned but -Yoink- it, been too loyal to this bloody franchise for too long and still they do hosting matchmaking…
Joke!!! I want to compete but they won’t let you coz if you face someone your level they’ll always beat you putting you in an unfair position on the leader board.
Like to know how many of the online competitors are not close to the severs in America.

The irony is, there are no servers.
Halo is a peer to peer game, meaning there are no servers involved. It is all player controlled. If you’re matching people and lagging, guess what, it’s you or the host.
Before 8PM in the UK, the game is nowhere close to its peak of 30k, meaning you’ll be matching people from other countries more commonly than your own because the player pool isn’t there.
I wouldn’t say that’s racist, it’s just the aftermath of a game with a low population.
EDIT: I’d thought I would mention I’m from the UK and that when I play during the day, I rarely run into any laggy games, and if I so it’s on my end.

Well, OP, I’m not sure that constitutes racism. You aren’t exactly being intentionally marginalised, it’s not a deliberate idea where one of the devs woke up and went “You know, I want to piss off the rest of the world today.” when making the game.
It was an oversight. They forgot the good connection filter (although it’s supposedly running in the background) and as such, a lot of places get sub-par connection and games.
It’s definitely a shame though. Hopefully they don’t make this oversight next time.

How is this racist? Even in their(343I) country of operations, there is still lag. It’s either you, or your host. Or both, as the case is many times.

I know it’s not servers, that’s the issue, my point is Americans always host causing latency, not lag, there’s a massive difference. I mentioned host a million times, I misused the term servers, I mean hosts.
And no, I get better games early coz there’s less Americans and more chance of European connection. It’s racist because they should invest in server based, regional servers. This way we are connected to people close to each other making a more fair experience (BF For example)

I’m British, so I understand, while lag tends to be minimal I do encounter it and when I encounter it, it’s bad

How would you know? We live all over(the world), you speak for a single country. I can state that America has lag, but not because of some region/nation connection problem. And yes, it is bad lag. Just as bad as you guys receive.

I am a non-american.
It’s not racism. It’s oversight. They didn’t bother to put in a regional search filter and as such the connection of many places suffer. It’s also a spawn of low population in the games online matchmaking.
Like I said, they didn’t wake up one day and simply say “Screw the rest of the world in particular.”
It’s weird for you not to encounter latency as this is different from lag. I’m 29, I know the difference. Also if you were from a country in Britain I’m surprised you referred to yourself as British as if it was true, you wouldn’t call yourself british

Well to be fair it was on the back end of extremely bad games with the worst latency going. No lag, just my gun did no damage and I fired 6 shots of BR.
I know how to play and this is an issue. I rarely get laggy games but always get bad latency.
The point of the over exaggeration was to get 343 to realise we want regional severs. Good connection filter didn’t really work, it helped with lag, not latency.

Halo Xbox One is having dedicated servers and it is coming in 2014.

The term you’re looking for isn’t “racist.” It’s discrimination.
And I don’t think that’s true either. Be happy that you can actually compete in this tournament. Unlike me who lives in one of the few states of the US that aren’t allowed to.
If you wanted dedicated servers, then you’ll have to wait til Halo 5 comes out because they’ll be implemented in that game.
Are you sure your connection is that great? Because I play with friends on a daily basis with some of them from different countries (even Australia) with no lag after 8PM.
Best thing to do is do a speed test and see if your connection is portforwaded.
