Hello x DREAM 76 x here. I am a pretty well know forger who created games like Battle Tracks and a lot of popular mini games in Halo 3 and Reach. I am very disappointed right now with 343. It seems to me like they are trying to force me to play the game the way they want me to play it. The removal of Race and a lot of other custom game options are just to me, completely unacceptable.
I really don’t see why they couldn’t have just left a lot of the Reach game and options the way they were, and maybe just added a few new things. A lot of mini games that I enjoyed making and playing are now either completely impossible to make, or will be mostly broken due to the removal of “key” game options. I really feel like crying and this decision that 343 made really divided the custom games community and will ultimately destroy the longevity of Halo 4.
I really think that this has gone too far and 343 needs to respond with a reply to the community. I would like to see a lot of these games and options return asap as a title update, especially race. It was a real kick in the but to remove one of the best and fun custom games in Halo 3 and Reach.
I am not buying the new map pack unless some of these issues are addressed or resolved. I urge the community to rise up and be heard. We need to start a boycott of 343 products starting with the new map packs if they don’t respond to this backlash. Let me know what guys think about the boycott. Spread the word. Thanks.
On one of Ducain23’s youtube videos he talks about how people from 343 were telling him they were excited to see his race maps. They also mentioned it would be cool to have a race map the went through that ‘hoop’ in the forerunner structure on ravine. idk why they would say that if they just planned on completely removing the gametype. Thats why im 99% confident they will be adding in more gametypes, but no, not 100% fact.
I can understand if they add it, that would be great. I just don’t get the logic of not including basic game types that have been there all along. Why do we have to wait for some magical update?? They didn’t’ wait for my 60 bucks. I would like them to get to work asap. This is unacceptable and we need to let our voices be heard. These game variants should have been in the game from day one.
Huge racing fan as well and banking on race popping up in a “weekly playlist update”. I am pretty much done with Wario Stadium from Mario kart 64. Message GT TurbTastic if you want to race some laps with me and give feedback.

Stand in line. Its the same with every other game. Why are you surprised? Look at probably 99.9% of the game released in the last 1-2 years. Alot of stuff is left out at launch for either DLC profit or added later. Did anyone ever think that maybe they only released a few game types at first to eithr A) gauge interest and the number of people for the game, or B) they wanted to gauge how the servers ran first before wasting their time adding them?
I’m not saying what they did was fine. It would be nice to hear and explanation, but its their choice in whether they want to say anything or not.
I will say though the one game type I didn’t like was One Flag CTF, I just like having 2 flag competition more, and I dont know why, but one flag seemed kind of pointless to me. Infection though is now called flood, so you can take that one out.
You can actually make a race map, just use KoTH instead of VIP, yes it’s a shame and a real pain in the -Yoink- to make a race map perfect with KoTH but I’ve succeded in making one.
But something that I really want in H4 is Big team objective games like CTF or Terretories, miss those gametypes …
I too am very disappointed in 343. I can see why it is the lowest scoring Halo game. It seems like they are doing the one thing you should never, ever, ever do…
and that’s piss off your core audience.
Custom game options has been a huge part of Halo, and it is the reason why we got Infection in the first place. So why on gods green Earth would they think removing them was a good idea? And I swear to god, if they try to charge money for them, that will be it. I won’t care about a sequel, Halo will be dead to me.
I was already fooled into buying the LE, I won’t be fooled again.
