With the implementation of the fantastic gametype of “Race” implemented into Reach, I believe that MM is in need of such a playlist. Whilst creating such a playlist gametypes such as Hog Potato or Rocket race could also be implemented into the Race playlist and out of Multi-Team where it has no business existing in the first place. The idea has so much potential, thanks to some of our amazing map makers out there. Seeing how successful Race seems to be in custom parties, I could imagine it faring pretty well for people who are tired and kinda just want to drive on such well crafted maps the community has been churning out lately.
I would imagine we would have 12 players in a game, that way we can split teams into 3 for Rocket Hog Race or two for regular Rocket Race, which I personally enjoy more. Obviously credit rewards would throw the system off balance considerably thus we should not apply the standard time applied to game = amount in credits. Players need an incentive to win, thus I believe the credit reward for winning (1st place) in FFA race maps should be 1200 cR for the top player and a mere 100cR for the absolute loser. In Rocket Hog Race you could apply the same rule but in units of 4 as so: Winning team gets 1200 each, then 800cR for second place and so on… Obviously Jackpots, slot machine, commendations ect also apply.
This may seem poorly executed so far but maybe we can fine tune some of these details to your liking, so long as you discuss below.
