This is 7 out of 10 games at least one of my teammates left game early. What is 343 doing about it? Because I don’t see anything being done.

you get banned pretty quick if you quit
Yeah i had a morning where they quit 7 games in a row on me. I think if you are higher ranked it should ban the first time.

Why is the specific ban thread 106 pages long, with other daily threads complaining about quitters. IMO the ban system, while somewhat of a deterrent, actually does very little to stop quitting. It’s mostly for appearance. It’s just a flesh colored band aid over a festering wound that never heals for lack of treatment. If the ban hammer works why are there so may threads just like this one? It’s not like, “my team mate just quit”. It’s always, “people quit in four of my last six games”. Quitters just open a few alternate accounts. That helps the appearance that we have more active players. See how the game looks better on two different sides without actually fixing anything? Because then they would have to fix other issues that drive all the thinner skinned players to quit. Like the laggy, disconnecting servers, the lack of map rotation and the unbalanced matchmaking. It’s called making money. Beautiful! I’ve just accepted that if I go into Arena without a full team of four we are very often going to end up shorthanded wether we’re winning or losing. As I write this there were quitters on at least one side in 7 of my last 10 games of Slayer. I think I had one or two shorthanded wins in there too, which is actually exciting when we pull it off. When a team of three beats a team of four by one point it helps make all the shorthanded losses worth staying and fighting.

seems like your rant should go in the thread I linked above, have a nice day.
But to bring out an old go to. Prisons don’t prevent murders, so we should do away with prisons.

I did not intend to direct any animosity toward you. I can understand how quoting you looks like I’m calling you out in a disparaging way or discounting your input. The opposite is actually true. Whether or not you like or dislike my post(s) I almost always enjoy yours and find them on point. So I absolutely, honestly apologize if I sent salt in your direction. My post is a bit of a rant, but it is, as I stated, my opinion, based on playing this game and reading this forum almost every day. I don’t believe there are any untruths or even exaggerations in it, and I did end on a positive note. I enjoy the game immensely and want it to be the best it can be. I’m sure you agree that recurring issues that are never addressed in a truly effective way can get annoying. If you think the ban system is an especially effective tool then we just have different opinions. And I’ve tried to offer multiple, constrictive fixes in other posts.
In the spirit of conversation, I would reply that while the ban hammer makes the pretense of a fix to prevent quitting, or keep quitters from playing (on other accounts), it does neither to any significant degree. I guess prison time is supposed to present a deterrent for murder, but prisons mostly house criminals after they commit crimes. Their much more valuable function is how well they separate the miscreants from the rest of us. I’m all for more prisons. I’ve actually suggested a ten game quitters’ lobby to house all the multiple quitters, since the cops have proven ineffective. In the end, killers gonna kill and quitters gonna quit. A certain amount of it has been accepted by the powers that be and now by me when I play the game. I don’t have to like the way it is though.
Finally, maybe my post belongs in the other thread, and I might post there if I had ever been banned. Someone would have to look long and hard to find multiple DNFs in my history. I did have a great day, winning more than I lost (solo) and ranked up a little. Thank you. Again, my apologies, and I hope you have a great weekend.
I also don’t mean to sound like I’m trying to prove something you already know, but 4 of my 7 games today had at least one quitter out of eight players… just sayin
You get banned
