This game is getting worse by the day. There are quitters in arena almost every game now. You know the drill, their team gets a bit behind and they instantly leave. It’s making the game almost unplayable.
Banning is not working. Banning would be a great idea, but they can just create another account! That’s like getting kicked out of a nightclub, then putting on a fake moustache and going right back in! What’s the point in banning if they can still play the game?
How do I know people have smurf accounts? It’s pretty obvious. Their names are usually two random words followed by a number, such as annoyingChair46838 or misguidedSlippers064338 etc. I am seeing them all the time now, and it’s obviously the quitters who have created new accounts.
And the other way I can tell, is that they’re often unranked! It’s the end of the frickin month, why am I still playing against unranked players? There seems to be loads of them. Sometimes I lose to them as they’re actually higher level players. And when I lose, I lose a ton of CSR. But when I win, I gain next to nothing. It’s sooo stupid to have a competitive game that is so fundamentally broken, 343 please get it fixed.
I don’t care how it’s done, but it should be one account per copy of the game. Or one per Xbox. This situation is ridiculous. Another idea - give them a true social playlist where quitting is allowed. At least it would filter some of them away from the ranked stuff.
Yeah, but there are other ways to warm up. Play some Warzone Assault, tons of pistol action!
This is a ranked competitive game, yet they haven’t even got the basics right. I could theoretically create another account, my friends could do the same, then we all lose the qualifying matches and get into Bronze 1. We then play 3 Bronze accounts and one regular account, we’ll get some easy matches. I’m currently Diamond in Slayer and could easily get to Onyx this way. But the way I see it is that it’s cheating! It’s an exploit and they need to fix it.
And as for the bans, they are completely useless if people can just play on another account. It’s ruining the game, I really don’t enjoy Arena. Team Slayer isn’t as bad, but quitting is still rife.
Honestly people are always going to quit no matter what 343 or any company implement as punishment for that matter. My only suggestion for you is to try and always have other friends with you to decrease your chances of losing due to quitters. Try and join a spartan company if you really can’t find people to play with.

Yeah that was pretty bad too, and standbying. But I’m talking about Halo 5, and quitting seems to be increasing. It’s almost every game in Arena, as soon as they start losing someone disappears.

I have a few friends, but everyone comes and goes. I tend to play more Halo than most people lol.

I don’t see what this has to do with quitters? I agree that you should be able to find games, they do need to address that. But if you’re Champion and using a smurf account, I doubt that you’d need to quit?
And to be fair, I disagree with people like you using smurf accounts. You are way better than the average Halo player, yet you choose to use a low ranked account. What chance do those lower ranks have of beating you? Some poor Gold players are going to wonder what they’re doing wrong when a team of “Silver” players gets a 50-0 on them in Slayer. And they’ll lose rank, which isn’t really fair.

I’m just saying, once we get champs is super hard to find a match. i don’t feel like waiting an hour to find a game, but if your a low level you can find games instantly. the game needs to be fixed.
So the ban hammer isnt doing any good? wow… how suprising. /sarcasm
There were plenty of ways match making could have been improved and stop people from quitting, but 343 went the easy way.
on your problem:
i hardly meet quitters in diamond/onyx ranks. and if so, who cares? move on, next game will probably be better.
edit because the firum is still -Yoinked!- up andlets me only post 2 times a day… lol:
JIP has to stay out in arena, no way they should implement it.
banning is completely useless. if you take away the possibility of playing with other accounts, people will just move on and stop playing. decreasing an already small playerbase is the dumbest thing to do.
beside that: why should my girlfriend not be able to play if MY account got banned? should we pay for another love subscription just because 343 is to lazy to solve the problem? Lyca wrote a great forums post about quitting and a proper solution to it but since 343 isnt rading their own boards anyway it 's useless to discuss this any further.
there are 2 facts: the beyond stupidity harsh bans wont change anythiyng. i got a 30 minutes ban for quitting one game after 38 played matches. what did i do? no, i didnt fire up one of my other accounts. i just went playing rocket league and had a great time.
the scond fact: 343 wont change the system. maybe they will crank up the times again but that will just put h5 quicker to death than the lack of playlists and crappy servers and already did.
343i, please put in JIP in Arena…
but only do it under certain conditions.
For Example:
The Team with less players has to be losing by 5 or more points in order to receive a new player - A new player comes in for the team with less players regardless of score if the match is less than 1 minute inAnyone agree, disagree, or have any ideas for this?

The banhammer would work perfectly if it actually BANNED people. Instead it just makes them use their second, or third, or fourth account. They can keep doing it forever, so it’s pointless.
What we need is a combination of bans on ranked, one account per live subscription, and a true social playlist that casual gamers are encouraged to use. We also need a fix for the disconnections that are happening to people, and a way to distinguish if someone quit or if they were booted by the crappy servers.

Some people like myself just cant be bothered ranking, in fact this month is the only one since I got H5 that I could be bothered and considering how bad some ranked players are for example a team of unranked players can crush a team full of upper end golds.
Secondly I disagree with your point about one account per copy/xbox, there are cases where more than one person uses the xbox and game you would be forcing the purchase of a second xbox which could in many games force bans due to ip policies. Also in some cases you force the purchase of another game especially in regards digital copies. And this would prevent co-op which may if rumours are to be believed being added at some point.
So while some people may be cheating your idea would lead to a lot of players getting punished for no good or fair reason.

No, all we need is one account per live subscription. Mine is VirtualMark, if someone else wants to play then they’d have to use my account or pay for another subscription. The purchase of a new Xbox wouldn’t be necessary. Nobody would be getting punished.

Indeed, and I never said that every account was. I just said that there are a huge amount of quitters with those type of names, I’ve noticed a pattern. I could trawl through my games history and provide you with dozens and dozens of examples, but can’t really be bothered. All I really want is for 343 to take notice and do something about the constant cheating in this “competitive” game.
