The game has been a blast thus far. Although, I must admit there are a few things that are not on par. Quitters! I run solo in 4v4 games and in my last 10 games, eight of them had quitters. It’s accepted in my viewing that some games will consist of poor sports or people who have to leave and quit a game. However, over the last few days, it seems more than coincidental that it happens in nearly every one of my games. Some games even START with one team having less teammates, resulting in the rest of our team to QUIT and thus leaving me to die several times in a 1v4 handicap, forcing me to quit or chance it and suffer the misery of 1v4. Should penalizing be stricter for quitters?
Firstly, I would acknowledge that it’s my own fault for not playing with friends, as this problem wouldn’t occur or not as often. I just don’t think I should have to party up to play competitively. Please don’t think I want the other team to have a quitter so that I have the advantage either. I would rather attempt to rank up in the fairest sense. Quitting should be penalized to a heavier degree as it’s deteriorating the play lists, and especially the 4v4 play lists. I have nothing to offer as far as how strict the penalty should be but I can say that 5 minutes isn’t enough (and that is after 3 quits). I’m simply writing to create awareness for this as I see it as a BIG obstacle for players interested in playing and competing for victories.
I feel quitting and idling should carry heavy penalties. I think there should be a forfeit option once half the team leaves an Arena game, requiring both players to agree to forfeit. Its horrible getting spawn killed repeatedly and tanking your K/D just because you know quitting an unwinable game will hurt you too.
i think its fine 5 mins shouldnt be much more you did pay for the game and having them stop you from playing because you have kids or someone comes to the door, the dog has to go out, or something just happens. but honestly if im in a game and its overkill i just leave games are meant to have fun not just to spawn and die spawn and die…and yes swat spawns mostly suck. i spawned in started to run and someone spawned right in front me and then i just assassinated him
I have to agree it seemed like a lot my games yesterday had someone quit. I thought halo 5 had join in progress system? That would help a lot. Otherwise yeh it needs something along the lines of destiny’s mercy rule

Warzone has join in progress. Arena does not. Join in progress in Arena would be awful. Jump in when the other team controls map/power weapons and a huge lead… not very fun.

Then what do you suggest for the players that are already in the game say 2v4 … stick it out and take the loss? No thanks and do you know why, because i get put on American servers for the most part which is great, not a hint of lag, rubber banding players, hit’s registering /sarcasm
Because of the ranking system Arena can’t really fairly have a JIP. No one should join a match that the team is down 40-13. That being said there should be some sort of mercy rule after quitters quit or some sort of forfeit.
My suggestions:
Create a Casual Non-rank Arena. Maybe 4 or 5 gametypes. JIP allowed.
Quitters in ranked matches endure penalties and they become more extreme when there is a pattern.
