Quitting is common cause Ranking System is Garbage

Ranking is more prevalent because 343’s horribly implemented ranking system is downright trash. 4/5 Games you’re put in the ranks mean absolutely nothing and you either get destroyed or are the one destroying the enemy team by more than 20 points. Halo 3’s only penalty for quitting a game was losing one EXP point. Yet you hardly saw anyone quit in those days. CSGO, Overwatch, League, all games with very good ranking systems hardly ever see ranking systems.

You are talking about 2 different systems. The ranking system is different than the progression system.

Placement matches is part of the Ranking System.
Losing EXP is part of the Progression System.

I mean obviously in both games you’d lose your rank, but what I’m saying is Halo 3 had a much more lenient quit penalty and there were still less quitters.

You also have to remember you lost EXP and TrueSkill Rank. So if you quit in a Ranked match you were more likely to go from a 40 to 38. If you stayed and went from 40 to 39. Since it could take 3-10 matches to rank up once, the penalty was large enough. People really didn’t care about EXP in Ranked anyways.

I really have to say the ranking is fine, however playing unranked players that are blowing everyone away in kills…imo i really think players that are unranked should play against unranked players using their competitive rank from the previous season only and once you obtain rank i think you should only play players that are…i dont want to play unranked platinum diamond and onxy players every game if im gold 6
