There are also plenty of threads where people admit to quitting out if they don’t like the map, the game mode, or what their team-mates do in the first 30s of the game.
Oh yes definitely, many people are quitting out of certain maps and for example the pretty much public dislike towards skokets with many people just instantly leaving.
However when you also see the amount of threads where people play many many games to get tiny amounts of rank, only for them to lose all progress because of one lost match, it just doesn’t make that much sense for the people who actually still engage with the ranked playlist to intentionally leave games imo.
My main concern is that it will create more uneven / mismatched games. Given that your MMR should be a better reflection of your current mood / form.
A bigger population would be helpful.
Other than that - they need to maximise what they have. They need to bring the ranked players together - and encourage them to keep playing for the whole season.
Could they isolate ranked play to weekends?
And add in some sort of cumulation of points for weekly play - with seasonal rewards?
Whatever they do they need to do something. Because a transient population that only really plays for a week or two each season is not sustainable. Or at least if you want any relevance for it.
I always laugh to myself when I hear someone quitting a specific game mode in Ranked. eg. Strongholds.
They obviously haven’t realised that you have separate MMR for each game mode - and then your CSR “chases” the average of these MMRs. So if you keep quitting one game mode you are pretty much sabotaging your rank.
It happens a lot in Mcc as well. The problem see is if 343i makes the band for quitting stronger more people who lag out from disconnected do to bugs well be affected. + lot of player have ben tocking about Halo infinite having vary bad connection problems on Pc.
I have noticed a handful of games too, more often than before where we end up 4v3, or 4v2, specially now over the holidays. But if I recall this has always happened as far as I can remember playing Halo.
What I found very strange was that I was sweating in Gold and just can’t progress., I usually do ok in Gold and sail through, and then start sweating in Plats, but wow each game is very sweaty atm haha. Either I have become significantly worse, or the surfs and low population make it significantly tougher to progress atm. Is anyone else seeing this too?
Let’s just clarify something as we keep talking about low population.
If we look at previous Halos and MLG playlists on average they have only ever pulled in around 1000 players at peak times.
I can imagine Infinite is doing the same. So in actual fact this isn’t a low population it’s a normal sized group for this playlist.
So therefore the population is as expected for these ranked settings and cannot be complained about.
In actual fact it’s probably a high population considering there is no other ranked playlist.
When i played ranked i quit whenever it wasnt team slayer. Also quit games because none of my challenges were doable in modes they put me in. They did it to themselves.
