My two cents. I’m quitting Halo 5. I’m 42. I’ve played every halo game solo and multiplayer. I play campaigns on legendary. In multiplayer I regularly finish in the diamonds. I have spent thousands of hours and dollars on Halo merch, collectible xboxes, and the like. I enjoy the lore and back story. I’m quitting because the latest campaign has little to no replay, but primarily because the multiplayer is broken. My biggest complaints…Spawn locations are atrocious. Players should be able to pick spawn points. The br. I was so excited to see it back during the Beta as a lethal mid-range challenger after it was nerfed in halo 4 to accommodate the DMR. It was so great to see its accuracy return. The atrocious random scatter of the H4 BR was gone and I immediately grew a huge smile as I saw my mid-range engagements ending with headshots that felt right on target. Unfortunately, Like everything good in Halo, 343 decided they knew better and ruined it. Now it’s back to practically useless because some dorks at 343 wanted to bring back some stupid nostalgia feeling (maybe to help push the crap half-baked MasterChief collection) by again nerfing it with terrible scatter and pushing everyone to the pistol by ridiculously improving it. AND THAT IS MY BIGGEST HATE. How is a pistol, any pistol, equal in power and accuracy to any long rifle? I’m freaking sick of being pistoled from across the map and seeing guys score perfects. I mean reallY!!! Me and an enemy are shooting each other, at considerable range, and I’m actually at a disadvantage by having a scoped long rifle with a 3-round burst!!! That is horseshyte of the highest order. And the knock back of the pistol…again, it’s stupidly out of whack. The velocity of any pistol round should be less than that of any long gun of similar caliber and when being shot from the side the amount your sight gets knocked around is ridiculous. I mean for real, while shielded, no weapon, save massive splash weapons like rockets or grenades, should move your sights at all…The shield absorbed the shot, right? But thats another complaint entirely. Here i’m talking about the stupid amount the pistol shots knock you off target, it is similar to dmr or sniper shots. Thats again dumb. The DMR would theoretically be firing a .308 or 7mm, a The human sniper is a .50BMG! But the amount you get knocked around when being struck by those rounds is the same or nearly the same as a pistol shot?? GTFOOH.

Since when was halo primarily a pistol fighting game? Wasn’t Halo always about finding the best weapon for the situation? Long guns or needlers for open maps, CQ weapons like SMG, shotgun and Plasma Rifle for narrow maps. The pistol was, like in the real life military, a last ditch weapon for close quarters. Accurate to about 30ft. Just to maybe save yourself. Now it’s a 5 shot weapon from over 100’ away and is equal or superior to every long gun in the game since its faster fire rate allows it to get off 5 rounds in the same time long guns can fire 4. I hate it. And don’t think I’m just bad with it so I’m whining. I can pistol with the best of them but I’m just sick of HAVING to. I mean all of the slayer multiplayer maps are of a size that puts them squarely in the pistols sweet spot. Some maps allow for fun with other weapons, but, some maps (er…can you say,Truth & Eden) really force you to use a pistol the entire time because the time needed to get to and pick up a different weapon from spawn vs you getting seen and nit-picked by pistols from different angles is so short. Basically you spawn in a corner and have to fight your way out with a pistol every time. If you win the initial battle, you generally get cleaned up by another pistol before you can recharge. Average life is well under a minute on most of these maps. It’s really not a fun gameplay experience.

I’m sick of just a pistol game. 343, you have ruined a nearly 20-year love affair I’ve had with this franchise. I’m very sad to say this but I’m not renewing my xbox live subs since Halo is really all I have time to play enough to be good. ooSilentDeathoo is my gamertag…look it up. Been continuously live since 2006. My Original tag without the oo’s at the beginning and end goes all the way back to 2004 & halo2. I actually pay for 2 subs so I could play at work and have a demo machine hooked up since I work at an electronics / computer shop. I’m killing both. I’ll hang up the sticks until the next halo. If it’s still this bad I’m done for good.
