So I found out today that if you have a game where your teammates all quit out, leaving you in a game 1v5, and you decide to follow suit instead of taking 40 deaths for no reason, you get deranked down to a 1 apparently. Why do we get punished for not giving a group of 5 people 10 minutes of target practice? It still baffles me that a game could be so FUNDAMENTALY broken and still be released.
I think it is supposed to be like that. Leaving gives you a loss, which in turn deranks you. I think that is stupid. What if I am in the middle of the game and I get a phone call saying a family member is in the hospital? I’m going to turn off my xbox and head over there. That makes me leave the game, deranking me. So I am being punished for my family member being severely injured? Thanks Bungie for making such a great ranking system.

An injured family member is much more important that a rank in a video game. Horrible example dude. Also, doesn’t shutting off an Xbox count as disconnecting? I’m pretty sure a disconnect does not reset the rank since it’s something that could be prevented while quitting is something you do yourself
In halo 2 you would go down 1 rank max. In this you can go down 4 levels for quitting one game. It’s happened to me twice
It ranked me down a bunch of times. I have to leave the lobby right after every match and search for a new one or else the game will freeze at “creating teams” and penalizes me for quitting. I don’t really care about my rank but that is pretty lame.

Good, maybe that will stop the halo community mentality of “omg we are down a score! TIME TO QUIT!” I think I’ve played less than 5 games where both entire teams stuck it out until the game was over. Because halo does not have the drop in/out during games (and SHOULDNT with most matches being completed under 10 minutes) quitters should be penalized HEAVILY. However, that being said, until they fix all the game freezes and lost connections the rank shouldn’t mean anything (I’m expecting an entire rank reset once all the bugs are mostly ironed out.)
I have had the connection go out and it de ranked me down to 1…sucks but o well what can I do, I don’t need a rank at this point to validate anything. plus how can rank even mean anything if people r cheat quitting to rank up to 50
It should derank only 1 level max when leaving a match.
Don’t worry about your rank, it will be reset anyway at some point when MCC starts working.

This almost looks like a foreign language with all the yoinking…
Personally, I think it should only derank you when you either;
- A. Don’t have a choice (in a 1v5 since all your teammates quit)- B. Quit constantly
And it should.

It’s a game, and if it you’re trying to knock and hate a ranking system on something completely irrelevant such as an injury, shut up. Something like that is incredibly rare, a developer is not going out of there way to make sure that you don’t lose rank because someone had a car accident, there is no possible way of knowing that. If you’re upset you lost rank from an emergency, your priorities are seriously out of wack…

The MCC wasn’t made by Bungie, but the ranking/deranking system was.
So a game is fundamentally broken because you get de-ranked 4 levels for quitting? Seems legit. While I get the frustrations, that doesn’t mean the game is broken. People really need to learn what broken means before throwing it out for everything.
