Quitters

I’ve played more 3 on 4 games this season so far (really this week so far) than I have games with full teams. One game was 3 on 3, one game it appears that more than 3 of us got booted. I hope this little update they did can figure this -Yoink- out.

this isn’t just a complaint post though. I’ve noticed that almost every one of these games, it has been MY team that has been down a player. this has gotta just be bad luck and small sample size right? theres no way my connection is causing someone else to get booted i assume.

I’ve been kicked three times in the last two days (no reason). I’ve dropped one other time due to a power outage (playing in the middle of a storm probably wasn’t the best idea). Plenty of people in my games are either quitting or being booted. If it was any other game I’d report them, but you just can’t be sure anymore if its them or the game.

I’ve also had a game that was 4 on 3 which didn’t involve a player quitting or being booted. It was just formed as a 4 on 3 (team arena).

And the latency issues over the last 2 days have been the worst I’ve experienced in H5. players are just eating bullets on my screen. Like H3 old times when you luck out and get stuck on 500ms host from the other side of the world.

The only way to avoid this problem is to play with a team. Use Halo LFG, recruiting on the forums, your company, or you could just invite people from previous games that you feel played well.

you’re right. it really is impossible to tell at this point whether its a quitter or a dropped game for some reason. i wish there was a way to just report a 3 on 4 game to 343i without reporting a player for quitting, or a flag a game for review by 343

I just got disconnected from server for 3rd time today. Took a screenshot, moved on and banhammer struck me for 34 minute ban. I’m assuming for leaving matches due to server disconnect. This far into the life of the game, servers shouldn’t be an issue so frequently.

probably someone reported you for quitting.

i gotta admit when its happened in over half of my last 15 games, its hard to not want to report people for it. i know its not that persons fault but it really ruins the game. if it happens enough, maybe we will be able to ban hammer 343i from Halo for a while.

it happens constantly when you play solo. Its so frustrating when you are in middle of game and partners quit the match. i report and block that users

They should allow people to join midway through the game. Because it’s happened way to many times too me or even bigger ban’s for consistent quitters. Because, my brother told me people who farm kills or smurf for a decent K/D will quit midway through games if they’re playing poorly because it doesn’t effect they’re K/D. So, maybe 343 should add in a system that makes your K/D stick along with lengthier bans.

I disagree on J.I.P. for Ranked matches. No one wants to jump into a losing game. I do agree that they should make it that K/D sticks to quitters.

It does stink when the server boots you. It used to happen to me a lot. Thankfully not much anymore, but it is always frustrating when your team drops out and the other team starts to womp on you because of it.

Problem with party up people is if one drops out they might just all drop out. I’ve been in big warzone parties where 50% were disconnected on the winning team and they were instantly triple capped.

the problem with this like we were saying above is that i am positive at least half the time its because the persons sever lagged out and not because they were trying to quit. so then then come back from being booted just to have a ban hammer because they were reported for quitting.

i would propose being able to toggle the ability to JIP. I’ve had a lot of games where my team would have won pretty handily if we’d had someone JIP an we only lost because of numbers disadvantages. i do think most of the time i end up in 3v4s its a server issue and not a quitter issue.

Nowadays, I only play Arena with friends on Xbox Live, so that’s at least two teammates that will stay in the match the whole way through (unless they have Internet problems, which doesn’t happen too often). When we don’t have a fourth with us, we have to settle for playing with a random teammate. 9 out of 10 times, our random teammate will chicken out before the match is even halfway over. Nobody on the enemy will leave (although, it did happen once), so we typically end up getting smoked. It’s happened to us so many times, that whenever it happens again, we spend the rest of the match hating the quitter as we try to get our scores as high as possible before losing.

Now, if you’re on party chat with friends (and I mean reliable players that you feel like you can trust in-game), you can turn something like a shortage of one teammate into an opportunity. I remember a time when I was playing with two friends and our random teammate quit on us, making our Slayer match a 3v4 game. Instead of complaining, our impromptu leader (I say ‘impromptu’ because he isn’t considered the official “leader” of our group, but he tends to take the lead the most while considering what his teammates will tell him) told us to pull together, stay in one spot, and use power weapons to reverse the score. The enemy team took the bait and the three of us took all four of them no problem. So yeah, the trick is to have a good, reliable team that cares more about the game than any ratios. It’ll be tough, but it’s possible.

They could just instigate the same condition COD has. If you join an in progress game, losses don’t count against your record.

yeah 3v4 is definitely doable with good communication. i had that happen once or twice where communication has been on point and we either pulled out a win or a very close loss. one time it even worked out with a 2v4 for us. but the problem is that its super sweaty and rare. much more fun with even teams.

And this is why the ban hammer is idiotic.

It’s mostly a matter of how well the other team can communicate. If they’re all in a party chat, too, then they could try and find ways around the strategy. Usually, uneven matches can result in some really awesome wins for the underdogs, but yeah, I’d much rather have an even match any day of the week.

2v4 worked for you one time? Must have had a really good teammate!

Your last part reminded me why I don’t play warzone anymore. My team is always the the team that can’t kill any bosses.

Most of the time the server spawns you where you don’t want to be. If it can’t do it in the game it will do it irl.

haha it definitely was mostly the teammate. but i also had one of those really rare games where i actually had a good server and it seemed like everything just went my way.

so i helped!

… i think.
