Quitters Need More Punishment

I am getting sick of quitters, if they want to play online they should take the bad along with the good. I am getting sick of playing games and less than a minute in, players start quitting because it’s not going their way. Bans don’t seem to be enough, De-rank them, take away REQ Points or even ban them from earning REQ points and exp. I had to play a 4 v 1 game which was totally unfair. Personally, I think frequent quitters in general need to be permabanned from playing online period but we have to be reasonable about this, they did pay good money to screw people from all over the world over. But at the same time there are some exceptions and I get that sometimes it just can’t be helped, the problem is once they are gone nobody replaces them. That was one of the good things about Halo 4.

I think that if you want to have a rank, you need to finish games. So if your trying to get a placement rank and quit, you go down the number of games played. Quit enough times and you go down in rank until you are completely deranked and need to get placed again. It should also cost them REQ points if they quit enough times or even be banned from earning REQ points.

I understand how annoying it can be with quitters. However some can accidentally disconnect or power off. I’m sure this doesn’t happen too frequently but when it does they are usually subject to the same penalties. Also factor in on games like slayer that the people quitting may have played bad, worsening your team as a whole. The penalties are enough for me to never back out, though I usually wouldn’t anyway. I could be wrong but I think in Warzone players can join mid game to take the place of players who left.

I agree BUT they actually do get banned pretty quickly you just cant telk cuz abouislly they arent in your fireteam

It’s annoying, but honestly though, they payed money to play this game, too. Maybe they accidentally disconnected, or they were forced to leave for some reason? Either way sure there should be repercussions, but nothing severe. A few minute ban is good enough for me.

… Unless it’s a ranked playlist. Then console ban them!

Powering off shouldnt happen often at all, however there should be a way to detect whether the person was having connection issues and just d/c ed as the server should have a record of high ping times and missing recieved packets that can absolve a person from these penalties when their ISP is not working well. Although that being said, my internet is rather garbage most of the time and i have yet to disconnect from a match, whereas in Destiny on PS4 i disconnect about once every three to five games, so props to 343 for making a stable MP experience

I’m pretty sure it’s not 100% quitters. I’ve had several instances where I get booted from the game because “my connection to Xbox Live has been lost” despite still being connected to XBL and my internet still working just fine. I’ve had it happen to friends a lot too. 343i needs to fix their servers, because it seems to be a major issue.

Again, being forced to leave would only be a once in a while thing, like maybe 1 in 20 games at most, and no ban should result, but the issue is people consistently quitting like in FFA playlist where most games finish with 5 or 6 of the 8 players,

Why dont you just play with people instead of complaining about your random teammates?

Just for your information there appears to be an issue with 343’s servers at the moment that is causing some players to disconnect during matches. Currently I get disconnected from about 1 in 4 matches but some other people are reporting getting disconnected from the majority of the matches they play.

I agree that people quitting intentionally sucks, but as things stand at the moment the disconnect issues are bad enough for some people that they are getting automatically banned because of it.

I propose capital punishment. I fell the ol’ hung, drawn and quartered technique is underused in modern video games.

Yep, was playing Team Arena, Slayer. Realized like 2 minutes in I was just there by myself. Decided to just quit as well, to not ruin my K/D. Shame, really…

We don’t know if they are quitters. I have been kicked out of a game for connection problems so many times.

Donno what you’re talking about but I just got banned for quitting one match… one. We were getting spawn camped and one person already quit.

Im reading this, and I tell myself I’ll post after a game of Halo. Seconds into Stronghold on Rig, two of my teammates quit. Punishments on quitting NEEDS to be harder regardless of any factors, otherwise people will keep quitting (which ruins a solid third of my games) and degrading the experience.

I think I should be punished by having 343 buy my physical copy of HALO5 from me.

That should teach me my lesson.

No they don’t I get disconnected from their servers in-game and it says I quit… so until they stop matching me with people in England when I live in California… Fluck off

Agreed
