Quitters in Ranked Doubles

Its almost impossible to play Doubles in this game. Its such a good idea with such trash execution.

1/3 of my games there is a quitter on my team. It could sometimes be a crashed game, but most of the time I’m sure its just some random nobody ragequitting after they ran in a straight line at 2 enemies with swords over and over.

343i can really only do things that can deter people from screwing over their teammates and leaving. That’s why quit penalties. But as long as people believe that only their enjoyment of the game matters, quitters will always be a problem.

This is why I always advocate people to find people to team up with before doing matches. There’s a much greater chance you’ll get a reliable teammate then you would relying on any matchmaker to provide you with one.

Most people now-a-days will always demand that punishments shouldn’t be a thing. You tell them that team play hurts when those people leave for others. They either tell you they don’t care or that 343i should do more to make the game fun to stay, brushing off the fact that people get testy over the tiniest of things, oh, someone got the sniper rifle first? Screw that! Oh, they go into the base, screw that.

343i can’t solve those problems, that’s a problem within the community itself… It’s always the same damn argument. Always thinking only about themselves and dismissing everyone else. If people did it to them, to the point that they never get a full match I’m 100% sure they’ll be on here complaining about it too lol.

Simply wrong. Look at other games where quitting is almost non existing. Good game design will always deliver.

Of course, you won’t get rid of quitters 100%… but that’s not a reason to not work in a clever way against it.

And you are right: my personal enjoyment and time is way more valuable TO ME than yours or any other players I meet one time for 10 minutes.

Must be unlucky man, I played 10 games and had zero quitters. Haven’t played any since then as Modern Warfare 2 beta today and I’ve played a little of MW1 in anticipation.

Don’t know what games your playing. Maybe your confusing things like the battle field games which have like 60 player teams, you generally won’t notice quitters, since they won’t have an impact like they do with a four person team.

Quitters impact just about every game I play though.

And people wonder why I always suggest searching with a party. Knowing the search que is always filled with people like this that don’t value my fun or time in the slightest.

Hopefully one day you’ll grow up and understand the importance of being a teamplayer and sportsmanship are to a team oriented game. More so games with low player teams where quitters impact it the most.
