Quitters are going down! Thank You 343

After reading the recent report on Halo 5 one thing stuck out the most in what they plan to add to the final release of Halo 5:

“Punish quitters with CSR penalties and matchmaking bans”

Thank god! It seemed like every other game of slayer someone would quit out, causing your chance of a comeback to be little to none.

I hate quitters. Not as much as those guys who betray tho

Sigh.

They really didn’t learn.

I’m guessing you are one of the quitters?

Nice assumption. No. Never quit 2 or more games in a row in my life, and I never got a quit ban in Halo Reach because I hardly quit games (if ever). There’s time to quit playing a multiplayer game - when you’re back in the search lobby/post game stats and there are still players filling up the slots.

I do have experience in multimedia and game design and that a quit ban does almost practically nothing, however.

As long as match making no longer puts people in games of 3v4 then this shouldn’t be a problem. 90% of the time I quit in MCC or the Halo 5 Beta was cause the game put me on the smaller team in MCC, or a teammate dropped before the match started in H5 Beta.

Oh they did. Its either ban with matchmaking, or JIP. Take your pick.

Agreed

Quitters upset the balance if the game, and there should be a consequence for it. Every one has a reason, but if you quit, you quit, no way around that. As for JIP to ban, I’ll take a ban over a JIP any day.

I’ve said before that it’s better to reward for completing games rather than punish for quitting. If we’re going to get punished we should get bonuses of some sort for completing games. As it is, you’re reward for not quitting is not getting punished. That ain’t right.

Decided to play MCC for the first time, since the Halo 5 beta, last night… (Last time I played MCC MP was before H5 Beta)

In the first game (H3 BTB) within the first 10 seconds of starting… I got betrayed for the sniper…

Yes, I quit the game, right then and there, and went to play Titanfall.

Very good point. Sadly the world doesn’t work like that now adays. I agree 100% though.

yea there was a fix inside halo 4 and it was allowing join in progress, but most people hated that feature so they took it out. Now people are complaining about quiters and they have to do extra work on the problem of rage quiters

I’m in favour of the csr penatly…but not of the mm bans…they should at least get it right with booting options then

What if people lag out of matches? That is a common occurrence. Does that mean that if I lag out of one game, I get penalized? If that’s the case then what the -Yoink- is going on with u 343?!! I hope that u have an explanation for this if some of us lag out of a few matches or if we all lag out due to a (God forbid) DDOS attack!

JIP works better than penalties. I thought we lived in a self esteem clinic world now, where consequences are too mean.

Maybe it’s because most hated playing the beta. Probably less likely for those that bother to buy H5. I’m all for punishing quitters but if the players don’t care for playing then they probably won’t return.

I quit when I’m not enjoying myself, so, guess I might get banned at some point. If the game had a social and ranked playlist, and the quit penalties were set specifically for ranked; then I could understand. But, punishing a player who doesn’t enjoy getting stomped in a poorly matched game does nothing but discourage that player from playing your game.
Or, that’s my opinion. I was never quit banned in Reach, so it may not affect me in the first place.

Yup. And in my opinion, this is the way it should be. 343i can’t be held responsible for every gamer’s quality of internet connection that buys their game.
