quitters and low ranks

First off, I will not claim to be a great player, but I’m pretty good. Not sure how the whole matchmaking system works but it seems to me that I’ve been getting teamed up with at least one person who quits at least every third game on slayer. And if it not someone who quits it is one or two low ranking guys who are not even qualified in slayer yet. I am a Platinum 1 and I have been stuck there for 2 days because of this. when the entire other team is platinum 1 or better and my team, consistently has one or two guys that are unqualified. Now to the point, quitters piss me off. Finish the damn game, take the downgrade and move on, done leave your team hanging. And YES for everyone who wants to know, I AM ONE OF THOSE -Yoinks!- THAT REPORTS EVERY QUITTER THAT I SEE, even on the other team. But truly something needs to be done in matchmaking to make the teams more even as far as overall spartan rank and season rank.

Fair enough, i report the quitters as well. They deserve it. And it has ruined my ranks on ts as well. Obviously it is better to get a team but as someone who cant commit to it i am stuck with that problem as well. Try ffa. At least your skill is more of a reflection on your ability, even with how random it can be at times and how frustrating the spawn kills and kill stealibg are

Glad you’re reporting quitters. But the matching part is frustrating, not sure how they would fox that completely you have to look at it one way maybe the guy isn’t placed is slayer but has plat rank in the other modes? So maybe not necessarily bad just getting new to the mode. But i agree it is very hard to move around in rank. Took me forever to crawl out of gold into plat.

Quitting seems to be a bigger problem than I ever remember it being in older halos. Sure, it happens in all of them, but the frequency of quitting in H5 is the worst I can recall. Of course quitting should always force you to go down at least one rank. The problem with this and h5’s ranking system is how often ranks are reset. I like the ranking system, but having them reset constantly pretty much kills the enjoyment of trying to rank up unless you have enough free time to play daily. I’d be curious to see the statistics of how many players have actually finished placement matches in more than one playlist each season. With the decreased desire to rank up comes an increased willingness to quit out because your ranks feel meaningless in the first place.

Another contributing factor, in my opinion, is the lack of party restrictions in playlists. If a team of randoms get matched against a team of 4, it is much more likely that a random will quit out when getting destroyed by a team of 4 actively communicating. I am not complaining about people playing as groups. That is the ideal way to play. But some of us don’t always have friends available to play with, and we should not have to be matched against those that do.

As the Op I consider myself an average player. Been stuck at plat x trying to get to diamond as a personal goal. But most of the slauer games are:

My team gets matched against a full diamond or ony team is destroyed by a minute or two then someone quits. I get a lose

My game is lagged a lot and that started aftwr the february update that put us latin america players against you north american folks and that made the game worse for everybody in the world.
On few games I get into a team of two or three guys playing together and we destroy the other team
Until february I had many close games like 49 50 etc now it is very rare most of the games one side gets frucked

Rollback the marchmaking I dont care waiting a minute to find a game as it was before. Please 343 fix it.

Agreed. It is so frustrating all of the quitters. They need to tighten up the ban in Arena. Like 2 quits is a 24 hour ban. Im going to say one thing call of duty Black ops 3 got right was this (I AM NOT BY ANY MEANS A COD FANBOY…PLEASE FINISH READING LOL). Say you join a game in progress on BO3 and your team is getting wrecked. As long as you finish that game, even if you lose, it does not count against your record. Now say miraculously you win that game…it will give you the win stat! I think Halo 5 needs to incorporate that in regards to people quitting on your team. If its 3-4, the stat should be scratched from the losing team. Just my 2 cents.

Quitting SEEMS to be a big problem because it’s ACTUALLY a problem with the servers BOOTING people from games.

I personally believe that the amount of quitting is due to the matching. A lot of people are getting carried to their ranks causing more lower ranks to be in with people on higher ranks. So either the weaker players quit because its not fun or the stronger players quit because their team is players not properly ranked.
