How should we deal with quitters?
I was thinking that if you’re in a ranked match, and your team mates quit, you don’t lose the same amount of CSR as you would a legit 4v4. The lose would be proportional to how many people are left on your team. As in you only de-rank slightly less if it’s a 3v4, but a lot less if it’s 2v4, and maybe none at all if a 1v4. Also, if a under maned team happens to win, they rank up a lot more than a 4v4 (this would keep the remaining players trying, and keep more from quitting, hopefully). As well as gaining more REQ and XP points than they normally would.
Also, to prevent quitting, make sure that the loss of CSR for quitting is much more than just taking the loss.
What do you guys think? Should 343 do this?
No, they should not. So many things people would do to abuse this system. Just find people to play with, it’s the best solution.
You should have to pay REQ points to quit. Just kidding, it is what it is, most solutions are even worse.

The only ways I see people abusing the system is try to get their team mate to quit so they can rank up faster.

Dude crysis why don’t you marry this game since you love everything about it? Something has to be done. The past 2 nights I played with a friend and the first 2 games both teammates quit leaving us 4v2 two games in a row. Pretty fair…not. I’m agreeing with you thedood
Simple dont do time penalties for when people quit instead loss of rank ,xp and dont gain any xp for the next few matches. it worked in Halo 3. Also no I dont see why people should get extra xp because of quitters, that would be to easy to abuse.

power goes out in your house so you lose a rank?
grandma slips on a banana and you need to quickly drive her to a hospital, lose a rank?
no.
quitters are going to quit, id rather play with someone who quit out instead of them being extra feed kills for the other team.
343i’s solution to quitters is a ban, if they quit to much then they get punished. sometimes quitting cant be helped. the halo servers have issues and drop players. maybe some kid crossed the line and his mom said turn it off now i mean it. so yes i think frequent quitters should be punished (which they are) and the rest they do lose csr rank for quitting. back in December when the servers were having major issues i would get dropped like every other game and they lowered me from a silver 6 to like a silver 4 so i think the system that is there is good enough.

The remaining team would only get more xp,CSR,REQ points IF they win. (I’m just trying to think of ways to keep it from going from a 3-4, to a 2v4).
Report them to Xbox Live for quitting, they’ll get themselves banned.

Yes… Driving someone to the hospital is more important than a video game rank. :0

I didn’t know I could do that. Nice.
After the game, look at the stats. Anyone that quit early will be grayed out. Click on them, then view their profile. Scroll to Report Or Block and click Report. The reasons a appear next, with Quitting Early listed as an option. You can write a quick report too, but I only do that some times.
Maybe send them to the beginning of their current rank on top of a ban? Make them have to work harder to rank up if they keep quitting. After so many times quitting you get pushed back in your rank.
I’d rather they just get banned, but penalties are a good idea.
quitter should get bant
