Quitter Affect on Rank

Dear 343 Team,

My friends and I have just about had it with quitters and with what seems like a new calculation preventing you from getting any rank when someone on the opposing team quits.

Im not sure if this was a new feature added for the Winter 2019 season but it’s absolutely ruined Halo 5 for us and we are thinking about walking away from the game for ever now. I created this account just to make this post because it’s been so frustrating to me.

I really challenge the folks at 343 to spend a few days playing ranked slayer and see just how frequent quitting is. We could be in a game and up 17-6 and someone on the opposing team quits, and now we have no chance of ranking up despite the number of kills we get.

Conversly, there are maps when a 3 man team is an advantage, like Refuge, and if a player on the opposing team quits in a close match or when the opposing team has a lead we are doomed. A loss to 3 players causes a tremendous dip in our ranks regardless of our individual stats. It seems that this affect can occur well into the game as well.

This really is a game ruining problem. I appreciate what you are trying to do her by protecting people who have quitters in their team, but it can’t be a 0 sum game. It’s effectively a tax on having a 4 person fire team because you’ll never get the advantage of a 3 on 4 win only a possible loss, which is devastating to rank.

This has has to be fixed ASAP. Right now, every other game is meaningless and it has really ruined the game for us.

THoughts from other players who okay team matches matches are welcomed.

There is an active topic on this already at https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/58b8518e005f432381ab99fbcaf931e0/topics/csr-increase-when-beating-a-team-of-3-in-slayer/757334e5-65d3-4d42-ab5e-d4af8338ec47/posts?page=1#post4 note I’ve linked you specifically to the reply made by 343 but I’ll quote it here for posterity:

If you’d like to continue discussion of the XP system in regards to quitting please do so in that topic. Thanks!
