Quiting games in competitve

I’ve had many people quit on me in competitive, even when they didn’t have negative KDA, and many times in the beginning of a match. I’ll report them after the match because my team now has almost no chance at winning, but does anything actually ever happen to them. Are their really any consequences besides getting a time out from competitive

Quitting from competitive games will make them lose CSR (don’t know how much). If they quit more often, they’ll probably get banned.

Yes, quitting results in a 30 CSR loss and a quit ban if they’ve quit a bunch of games already. If you quit when people already quit, then you won’t get a ban.

I forgot the quit ban part as well. Thanks, Luke.

I did not know about that loophole. That explains why the quitting seems to happen in large groups.

Thanks, definitely helps knowing they just don’t get off Scott free

What about CSR? If your in a ranked arena game and someone quits on your team- can you quit after they do without losing CSR? What about if two people leave? Or all 3?

You only lose the amount of CSR that you would’ve lost if your team lost the game so it likely wouldn’t be much since it was already an uneven game. They have to do that or people would abuse it if you didn’t lose anything.

I’ve noticed this a lot lately, it’s frustrating. It seems like it’s happening more and more lately too. I don’t think your csr takes as big of a hit for being on the losing team if you lose a teammate. Also, it seems that you hardly gain csr for being on the winning team if you beat a team of three. It’s honestly just a big waste of time for everyone involved.

There’s only one thing that i don’t like. If i don’t have time to do one game, i know that i will do a Quick play instead of the others playlist more “Competitive/seriously” but in that case, why i can get banned from quitting in a not serious playlist like quick play?

You’d have to ask 343, but it’s always been like that for the social playlists.

You’d think a quit ban and a big loss in CSR would deter players from quitting excessively. Seems like some people really just don’t care. What a shame.

Because quitting ruins the experience for other players.

It seems that is the attitude of alot of them. Don’t get me wrong, I sometimes get kicked off a game for connection, or something else. It is a very rare occasion that I actually quit out though, I try to never start a game, if I don’t have enough time to complete it. Even if I am getting slaughtered, I try.

I respect that. I’m the same way. I played a lot of Halo 3 back in the day too, so the EXP penalty for quitting put me in the habit of not quitting as well.

Right on man, I love Halo 2, and Halo 3, they were among some of the best times with my friends. Even when we was getting stand by’d, and modded against, we wouldn’t quit. We would stick it out, idk, I just never been much of a quitter, but to each their own.

Yup. Same here. Just feels like quitting has become way more common these days.
