So, in short, here’s my theory. Spirit of Fire finally arrives in the Outer Colonies carrying a small population of Flood. Flood proliferate and become a serious problem again. Chief goes AWOL in order to seek out Mendicant Bias on the ruins of the Ark. ONI corruption and politics cause them to be pissed off at Chief. ONI sends Locke to go find him, Locke not realizing what Chief actually intends to do. Didact opposes the involvement of Mendicant Bias and gets tangled up in things. This theory explains everything seen in the one and only teaser thus far. Chief is on the Ark (there is plenty of evidence for this). The giant robot is Mendicant Bias’s sarcophagus, buried beneath the sand. The chip is not Cortana’s. In fact, it is meant for Mendicant Bias, but it reminds Chief of Cortana’s chip, thus the tenderness. If anyone is curious about how these things are explained, or my reasoning behind all of this, feel free to message me! Ciao!
I cant believe nobody has thought of any thing like this before. But the most likely theory is that the chief went AWOL to find Cortana.
Yeah that’s one interesting theory. The flood is probably going to return and I also believe that chief is on the Ark in the E3 2013 trailer. But I thought the Didact died in Escalation? Great theory though!
Due to the recent event of frank o connor stating that the halo 5 plot has been guessed by at least 2 fans. I’m banking my nuts that your theory is the general shell that will occur but with other things a stir in the haloverse such as DeceptionCobras theory thrown in too!
Like the thoughts plus no negative comments wow
ohh, I like this one.
I don’t really buy the Mendicant Bias theory in all honesty. If Mendicant Bias is a “Guardian” then maybe, but because the term hasn’t been seen referred to him before in any sort of media, so I find it unlikely.
The structure seen in the E3 2013 trailer and in the game box art is a guardian, it was confirmed by Josh Holmes on twitter a while ago, when someone asked “What is a Guardian?” and he replied by saying “The answer is in plain sight”.
The game is titled H5: Guardians, so they have to have a pretty big role in the game, as seen in the trailer too when Chief is clearly trying to get it to assist him for some reason. (Maybe for the exact reason you mentioned in your post) So yeah I like your theory and it seems really solid and possible, but the Mendicant Bias part just doesn’t seem to fit, if you replace it with the Guardians then I’m really convinced, that this could be the plot.
So the chief is just one of the guardians there has to be more otherwise its guardian

Ehh… No no no. The Forerunner "Structure" seen in the trailer and on the box art in the middle of Locke and Chief is a Guardian

frank o connor has confirmed that at least two people have guessed the plot, and most theories are to do with MB. I’m certain that the guardian sentinels are involved. but if you look at the differences between the box art guardian and the 2013 e3 bird theyre completly different in looks and colours. one can be MB and the other a guardian/s

Maybe I’m limited, but they look quite identical to me,

See i went the other way and figured that people not things were the guardians since they have been actually protecting the universe so far
