Quite A Rookie Mistake from 343 Industries

Dear Halo Waypoint,

I’m sure this isn’t the first time you’ve seen threads about this. And hopefully it won’t be the last! At least not until the issue here has been properly rectified…

What am I talking about?

343 Industies’ decision to remove two of the best playlists from Halo: Reach’s matchmaking experience; Anniversary BTB and Squad DLC. It should be no surprise to anyone that those who bought DLC content would like to play these maps online.

When the DLC Battle playlist was removed in the past, there was an uproar in the forums from the community until a viable replacement was finally added back in. Logically, you might have expected the developer to take note. Unfortunately that was wishful thinking.

Recently I used a 2 day trial to play some Halo: Reach. I say “some”, I tried to get the most out of those 48 hours. But not once did I see the following maps; Tempest, Breakpoint, Highlands and Ridgeline. These are all fantastic maps. Now almost exiled from Halo: Reach’s matchmaking experience. In my opinion, it’s a very rookie mistake, but not one which can’t be easily fixed.

Anniversary BTB and Squad DLC could be combined and annexed together, it’s so simple! An 8v8 selection of Slayer and Objective gametypes on variants of the following maps; Tempest, Breakpoint, Highlands, High Noon, Breakneck and Ridgeline.

What really astounds me is that there isn’t at least one playlist like this in the current roster just to purely enjoy such wonderful DLC. Yet we have Anniversary Firefight, a playlist which caters to ONE single map, which could easily be found in the regular Firefight playlist due the number of times you can choose to vote for “None of the Above”.

I could add a poll, but I’m sure the vote would be unanimous.

PLEASE GIVE DLC PURCHASERS A PLACE TO PLAY THEIR DLC

Please comment below if you agree.

Please discuss the August Matchmaking update, including the removal of DLC-required playlists, in this thread!

Thanks!
