I can see the frustration at sprint allowing for this to happen. However, as far as I’m concerned, if someone is shooting at me and I know it is a battle I can’t win, I’ll use sprint to get out of there. It doesn’t do any good to be “brave” and feed the other team kills by staying in bad situations.
Quality thread.
It really grinds my gears when someone challenges you to a fight and you get the better hand they run away. I can understand being shot in the back and running away to survive, but when you 1v1 someone with no other team mates around there should be absolutely no changing your mind and running away. That is cowardly and I make it a point to chase them down and bag’em afterward.

exactly why i want a classic playlist. Sprint ruins the way halo games are meant to play. Halo reach was criticized for having a Sprint AA and now it is standard for halo 4. 343 really needs to learn from the past.

the ones like DMR 1.4 seconds?
what would be a “fastish” kill time?
I agree.
Halo must be Arena. Glory or Death.
They’re not running away, they’re simply advancing in another direction!
Seriously though, where is that Gabe Newell picture with the “Deal with it!” text? If I’m in a position where I know I won’t win or get caught off guard I’ll use the tools at my disposal to get away and re-engage when I’m in a better position to survive.
Don’t like that? Hell if I care.
Hey call it what you want, I guess I am a coward. If it makes you feel better I will see you again, when I have the advantage…
No sprint only belongs in Slayer Pro and Arena Halo.
Halo is arena no more.
So let me get this, teamates yell at others for dying and feeding the other team kills while they yell at the enemy players for playing smart. This is one stupid concept

What do you want on your grave stone?
I hate people that run away more than anything…but…it is part of the game and with precision weapons usually by the time they turn to run they are dead anyway…if they get away they earned it no matter how annoying to some.
If I’m about to win a fight, and the opponent get’s away…
that means he’s won, sorta… a tie?
Either way, it’s not “bad”… if they get away, it’s my own fault for not being accurate/fast enough.
Sorry, but should it just be a rail-shooter with each team moving towards each other for a pure “accuracy” comparison?
Or is this a game about tactics and strategy as much as accuracy and clutch moves?
With the current bullet magnetism catering to anyone with a gun, if i even get hit once, im probably not going to fight you.
also, im not going to throw myself at you, you want that kill, work for it.
call me when they fix it.
Gamers act like little girls whenever they got shot in any game (well perhaps except Space Marine. That community’s gonads were generally made of stronger stuff). Sprinting helps but you’ll still see the coward “screw gameplay I’ve got to win!” mentality with or without the ability .
DMR is another reason for this, as it’s so overpowered.
I like “not” to die, just saying.I will go against someone better than me once they release the “Revenge of the Grunts” DLC.Then and only then will i die proudly, after i attempt a Grunt suicide sprint towards you, buahahahaha.

Dead cant read…
If I’m in a situation where I am outmatched in firepower, numbers or just plain skill of course I’m going to fall back and essentially run away. You lot complain that Halo is no longer a skill based game, but one of the first skills to be learnt is to eye up a situation and judge whether its worth the risk. Asking yourself if you can take the opponent or not is essential to winning, otherwise you’ll end up running into every fight and getting killed over and over. There is nothing wrong with picking your battles. I’ve always been taught, knowing yourself and your limits is vital, knowing the strengths and limitations of our opponent is even more so and knowing what your opponent wants is critical. If I know you want me to do something I’m sure as hell going to try to foil your plans and do something you don’t want me to do. That requires skill and by doing so demonstrates skill, and while sometimes it doesn’t always work, it’s got a better chance of succeeding than running in against bad odds.
