Quit Penalty on Social Lists

Why is there a penalty for quitting a game in the social playlist? Why does the social playlist take mmr into account for matching games? Social playlist should be random games with anybody else searching and quitting shouldn’t have a penalty… or is this just me?

Just you… just because it’s soical doesn’t mean you get to ruin fun for others by quitting all the time. Social has very loose restrictions for matchmaking.

As far as quit penalties my thought is if someone is inclined to stay in a match to avoid the ban hammer and it helps secure a team W towards the Targemaster commendation then that’s incentive enough for me to keep it.

I also when I play Super Fiesta variants use the Gambit Victory XP boost and people quitting and throwing the match directly impacts my XP grind which means more to me than rank.

Those would be my reasons for a ban mechanism looming large even in social playlists. I would think though if you got negative feedback and a ban it was probably more a case of vanity that someone’s K/D ratio wasn’t to their liking having to go shorthanded.

I think social should have a system where the first half of a team that quits receive a ban, but the rest of the team can quit without receiving one. There’s JIP in social, but it cuts off after a certain point and you can be left in a lopsided game if no one else joins to replace the quitters. I’ve experienced that in Quick Play a couple times and it’s not fun.

Lots of players choose to play Social because Ranked isn’t fun or doesn’t have the modes they want. Quitting ruins their fun just like it ruins the fun for people who play Ranked. True, Social is more laid back, but many still take it seriously. Not quitting is a fair requirement for anyone playing on a team online regardless of game mode.

Does this system really exist? every time I play I see people leave and immediately enter another game of matchmaking, they should improve it because of 10 games 6 you end up playing with 3 or less. is already part of the community

the penalty deff should exist. it sucks when you are losing and you check the score and realize you are short two team members…esp if your team is randos like it usually is on social, that kind of gap is hard to overcome. plus i think usually the penalty starts after you quit several games so one hear and there usually wont kill you

See, the real issue is that people are highly concerned about their W/L record. The one thing quitting guarantees in Halo 5 is no knock against your W/L record. So, really, the easiest thing that 343i could do to combat quitting, next to the ban policy already in place, is to make quitting go down as losses on your record, regardless of whether your team ended up winning that match.

It won’t stop all quitting, but it just might see the quit rate decrease once people realize they’re racking up insane amounts of losses because of it.

lol, you think quit a game is a good thing? quitters ruin all the games, they need more penalty for erradicate the quitters

Im with LethalQ here, just because it’s social it doesn’t mean you can just quit & make it harder for your team

Honestly I’d give one quit in a 24 hour ban and then up it to about 10 minutes for your second one and an hour to your third one. I do understand lagging out or AFKing because you have to answer the door or something. So I’ll give the freebie away to account for that. But you are otherwise correct, quitters are selfish.

Agreed. I have seen that become a real big issue in other games. It actually really helps in Halo.
