I think the majority have figured out that force quitting the app from the home screen doesn’t count as a loss or derank you. Every time I play a game and my team goes 3 or 4 kills behind, half our team instantly quit when we could quite easily get it back.
I don’t see why huge matchmaking bans are so hard, or unreasonable, to implement. The only reason for not getting a ban would be if someone else on your team has already quit, making the game unfair.
I think quit penalties are stupid so I’m glad to see that they’re not working effectively

No. No exceptions or acceptable reasons to quit. It becomes too easy to exploit. With your suggestion, people would search as a team, and take turns being the first one to quit when the group doesn’t like a gametype. That way, they can all be -yoink-heads while each only takes a fraction of the penalty they deserve.

They are not stupid at all in Halo, they need to be working better. In a game with long kill times, it is extremely difficult to win a game when you are down one person especially in a ranked playlist. If someone quits in an evenly ranked game, then that team is basically going to lose which isn’t fair for 3 people trying to improve their rank and win games. In games with a fast killtime, being down a man doesn’t matter much and can actually help you win easier, but not in a normal game of ranked Halo

You honestly don’t think that people should delevel for quitting out?
Really?

The MCC should’ve been fixed first; prior to quit penalties. It would have been proper to address the root causes behind why so many people are quitting before hitting them with penalties for it.

If I have to be punished by having to stand around for 10 minutes simply because of the fact that my team is winning in the first minute and a half in the game and everybody quits (except for that one person who always has to be that guy) then they should be punished by not being allowed to play another game until:
- My game is done
- After certain time period
- Against other quittersI have an open mind though… Explain why you think they’re stupid?
With all the problems in MCC is it that surprising they aren’t quite working right?

I don’t like quit penalties because they don’t work. The annoying players that quit because they can’t win are doing it anyways and those with good reasons to quit are being punished for it. To me it’s not right to punish everybody across the board the same way for quitting because people are quitting for various reasons (some more justified than others)… Ultimately if 343i would rectify the issues that are causing so many people to quit than people wouldn’t quit so much.
Furthermore Bungie applied an incentive-based system in Halo Reach that rewarded players for not quitting over time. The reward-based system was more effective then and would be more effective now at addressing this issue.

People who quit with a valid reason are not being punished (one quit every once in a while doesn’t affect you at all). It is people who quit relatively often that actually get affected by reputation penalties. I would hope that everyone would want penalties for serial quitters

I definitely disagree with you. Wholeheartedly.
In Halo 2 and Halo 3, when you quit you lost ranks. No ifs, ands, or buts. It doesn’t matter if a storm knocked your internet offline. While that has happened to me, it’s still your fault for playing and losing your connection to the match. It’s not like a storm knocking out your internet is a frequent thing, so an occasional loss once every other couple months won’t affect you at all…
There is no justification for quitting outside of getting cheated. If you have to go to work, you shouldn’t have started the game. If you’re losing, that’s 100000% your fault.
I can speak from my personal experience of this game a good 95% of the people I play against that quit are strictly quitting because they’re losing and they’re being sore losers. While 343 does need to fix ranks, there’s nothing for them to fix about people quitting out of matches to protect their precious K/D ratios that everyone cares about so much. You can’t tell me that most people in this game aren’t doing that… As soon as my team gets up by 8 kills in slayer or one point in objective, the other team quits instantly… It’s stupid and you all deserve to be punished. You don’t deserve to be rewarded for playing the game how you’re supposed to be played in my honest opinion. You shouldn’t have to be spoon fed rewards for just playing the game.

Wow, rage much? I have to go out on a limb and state that your obsession with punishing your fellow gamers is quite unhealthy. And you’re implying that I’m a quitter which isn’t accurate.
Look, Bungie’s reward-based system was effective in Halo Reach. It solved the same problem you’re complaining about when the current quit penalty system for the MCC doesn’t even put a dent in the issue of excessive quitting. So you tell me, would you rather have something that works or would you rather keep having to deal with quitters?

I find it hard to believe that you honestly didn’t know that my second paragraph was in direct response to your previous closing statement when you said this, “You shouldn’t have to be spoon fed rewards for just playing the game.”
You’re complaining about the difficulty of debating anything on this website and yet you disregarded everything I stated and waved it off by taking a personal attack at me versus responding to my counters. That’s slightly amusing to me but I think we’re done here because it looks like there’s nothing left for you and I to debate over this issue.

The root causs is people are babies who quit as soon as anything doesn’t go thier way. 343 cant fix that. That is a societal issue.
People quit even in game specific playlist is games that have no lag and everyone votes for the same gametype. People just quit because they are losing.

It solved the same problem you’re complaining about when the current quit penalty system for the MCC doesn’t even put a dent in the issue of excessive quitting. So you tell me, would you rather have something that works or would you rather keep having to deal with quitters?

I like how whenever you debate anything on this website you’re considered to be “raging”… Then proceed to take personal attacks at me when I said nothing about you personally at all… okay… Yet I’m the one “raging” lol. And I never said once that you were a quitter… I was using “you” in perspective of “you” the quitter. Not “you” SiN SHOOT2KILL

That’s slightly amusing to me but I think we’re done here because it looks like there’s nothing left for you and I to debate over this issue.
You didn’t even make a valid point though, your logic is literally a train wreck…
You start off in the thread stating, “I think quit penalties are stupid, they shouldn’t be in.” Everyone disagrees with you, then you say that 343 should have fixed the issues. Then in a well written post, she tells you that you should get punished for quitting… Simple as that. You’re obsessing over the fact that no one in this thread agrees with you and you’re taking it out on someone who clearly elaborates “why” they disagree with you. Then proceed to tell her she has this so called “unhealthy” obsession lmao… Are you challenged??

Did Team LindsaY discourage you from playing Halo?
