Quit it with the temporary playlists 343

Reading the weekly bulletins so far I can’t help but be irked by 343 acting all high and mighty on how well the SWAT playlist has been ‘performing well’ and that they feel oh so generous by letting it stay on longer. Do they even realize they’ll alienate certain players that enjoy playing those gametypes by removing them?

The fact that you’ll be swapping out Team Snipers for another playlist is just devoid of any logic and common sense whatsoever. Why not make both SWAT and Team Snipers permanent, like they were in Halo 3 and Reach? What is so difficult with having permanent playlists just like Reach had with the many options/gametypes for players to have?

On another topic your menu layout/interface is quite horrendous as Reach’s was far more user friendly, but that’s for another forum thread.

Seriously 343, just quit it with your temporary playlists. I understand you want to try out new gametypes and ideas. That’s all well and good and encouraged, however you could just make a Beta Playlist and jumble your ideas into there for players to try and provide feedback on.

That is the simple solution and one that makes everyone happy. Keep on adding the gametypes you took away, make a Beta playlist for your random ones and let everyone have their fun whenever they want.

i thought we are seeing the beta playlists now :stuck_out_tongue:

I have never seen a Halo game with such inconsistent playlists. If they’re gonna put something in, leave it there. Stop removing things and putting new playlists temporarily every week.

I don’t play SWAT myself, but I’m shocked that they’re taking this out?!

They want to keep from diluting the populations of all the playlists, while giving the minority fans of stuff like SWAT and Snipers appeased with their favorites every other week or so. Seems like a pretty sensible tactic.

Of course, some people in these minorities will complain, but it’s better than everybody else complaining when a bunch of minor playlists take people away from major ones

That’s personal opinion sir. I happen to love the new UI and Menu style.

I actually like this. In halo 3 all of these things were 2xp weekend playlists it made them feel more interesting, we only had them for a short time which is kind of what they were intended for. They are non standard halo gametypes so they shouldnt be availbe all the time or else they would subtract from the basic playlists.

I hate the new system, because if the pitiful number of options I’m already getting really bored with matchmaking.

Instead of cycling two playlists they need to add another 5 or 6 and give us more variety within the current hoppers.

Matchmaking feels like a beta.

They say that they don’t want too many playlists so that the population will not be spread out so thin yet they decided it was a good idea to not have CTF, Oddball, and KotH in one playlist. They make no sense

Diluting the playlist will be an ever growing issue as more people just stop playing.

As far as playlists go - a few suggestions.

  • Regicide is fail, get rid and replace with good old Rumble Pit.
  • Incorporate Dominion and CTF into BTB. Some people want more than just TDM in that list. I’ve made a 5 base Ragnarok Dominion map full of vehicles and heavy weapons if you need one.
  • Include the Beam Rifle in Team Snipers as a spawn option. The Binary Rifle can stay out though. Make the playlist permanent, as well.
  • Flood is fail, replace with old school Infection. Infection was central to custom games, too.
  • Have 5v5 Oddball / CTF etc in a Team Objective playlist.

But most importantly, sort the lag. It’s unplayable at times.

We’re seeing a beta GAME right now.

I’d rather know I’m going to be playing a certain gametype rather than go in and play 3 other ones before I get to the desired one. Same goes for a lot of others. It makes perfect sense

Yeah we are playing the beta.
