Quit ban? With join-in feature? Sorry but no.

I really think the quit-ban is ridiculous. I’m not going to sit through 15 minutes of a lag-filled game, and I shouldn’t be penalized for trying to have a better playing experience. I didn’t buy this game so I could keep teammates happy. I bought this game to enjoy it for myself, and frankly, I find it hard to enjoy myself when I want to play a game and I’m forced to stare at a screen for an hour. Why ban someone for quitting if someone else is going to join in within a few seconds anyways? Especially an hour ban.

What really upsets me is if I paid 70 dollars for this game, and have spent money on the map packs, fork out 50 bucks for Xbox Live, I should be able to play MY game the way I want, not how some -Yoink!--like industry tells me I should play.

343, you say there were a few things you messed up on this title and there are many things you can and will improve on in the next title, well make this one, or I can guarantee I won’t be buying the next one.

Halo and Halo 2 are rolling in their graves right now.

I know doesn’t make sense to have Quit Ban while JIP is present.

Actually it makes more sense now more than effort…

Before you were banned because you abandoned you teammates too often.

No, if you abandon your team… Not only does your team suffer you missing… Som other poor sap that takes your place suffers. So, now with JIP you made a negative impact on more people than just your original Teammates. (Also, JIP has been patched. So if you quit a game late… More often than not, JIP is off… JIP is only for the first few min of the match)

Don’t quit

I havent gotten the ban, but yes, it’s dumb… I’ve been in countless games where JIP has boned me into the worst lopsided game (or a game that ended 5 seconds after I initially sapwn), so yeah, either fix the -Yoink!- of your JIP system 343i, or remove the quit ban

How many games did you quit? I think the ban limit has to be pretty high to get booted. I have a buddy that chased the 1st kill commendation the other day and he quit every game after the first strike for most of the day and still didn’t get banned.

You’re allowed to quit from a laggy game.

However you will be penalized for quitting multiple times in a short amount of time.

You only get banned for being a habitual quitter.

No quit bans period. The whole notion of them is absurd in the first place. This is the kind of thing that gives gamers the ‘entitled’ as its only purpose is to satisfy the most whiny among us by punishing those who didn’t play with them enough.

Losing a rank in a skill based ranking system is perfectly acceptable and forcing them to take a loss is too, but quit bans are by far the most ridiculous things placed into these latest Halo games.

P.S. never once been quit banned.

Haven’t you heard? This game is a democracy!

“It may not have ended up precisely the way you imagined – there are simply too many voices and perspectives to make all of the people happy, all of the time – but we think of the community as a direct and democratic extension of the team and, indeed, of the development process.” - 1/9/13 bulletin

So if you continually intentionally skrew your team, and the unlucky person to take your spot over you shouldn’t be punished?

This game is just a disaster.

Why is it a problem? Just like people hating JIP. Grow up, finish the game and you start fresh.

You have to quite A LOT to get banned.

JIP patched, I joined a game of regicide earlier when the king was on 270 points. I also see people join into games when I am teaming with my mates and 3 guys on the other team quit out at 450-30 and yet JIP still feeds them to us :). Also really fun on CTF to go into a game with 6 players and just spawn kill the other team while they JIP because the game will never end due to the fact we have another guy on the other team. JIP is great when you have a full team or a full team plus one guy on the other team

I should get 6 mates, go play big team and we should al quit out straight away leaving 1 guy on our team, and then do it over and over just to troll with no penalty. Sounds good to me TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLO

I just use the JIP network trick to avoid JIP. That has made me quit a lot less considering I’m no longer getting thrown into BS JIP matches anymore.

OP, you have 218 incomplete and only 740 completed. You don’t think that’s worthy of a ban?

Tough. Neither you nor I nor anyone else is entitled to anyone else’s time. Does it suck when people quit? Sometimes, yeah. But that is how things go. People are imperfect. Get over it.

‘Play with the people till the end or else’ Is a ridiculous notion. There is no quit ban system that can divine the reasons for why people quit. It only gets more complicated with JIP which makes a quit ban even more pointless than it already is.

On that note the only way you could hope to actually change the behavior of the players quitting is if you implemented measures so draconian that no one would actually want to play in the first place. So not only are quit bans an incredibly dumb idea but Reach and Halo 4 have clearly shown that they don’t work.

What I hate is when someone quits and we’re sent to the score board while a new host is sought but after a minute or so I see the UNSC logo and the game ends. I check my history and it shows up as a DNF. Have never found an explanation for why 343i does this.

I think it awesome that quit bans were inforced, 343 could have done the logical thing and made people less likely to quit by:

  1. matching players based on skill.
  2. matching players based on connection.
  3. not starting games when it’s 1v4
  4. booting afk

they should also have removed:

  1. JIP
  2. the quit option in the menu
  3. the ability to spawn in a game without hitting the A button (afk reason number one)

Now instead of fixing their joke of a lobbying system, they punish the players that are victims of the stupid matchmaking of H4. Derp

Ow please, a match is over before you know it.

If it was up to me. Quit 2 times in an hour, get a ban for an hour.
