Quit Ban Question

I thought if more than half your team left in a match you were able to leave the match without getting penalized for quitting? I was in a BTB match and all but me and two other teammates were left (fairly early in the match might I add) so I ended up leaving myself and I was still penalized for 5 minutes.

Am I just crazy in thinking there was no penalty for leaving if half your team left or is this just a one off scenario?

Not a one off scenario. There is an issue with this at the moment. A couple of days ago the same thing happened to me and I was banned twice when I shouldn’t have been. A couple of games later I was the only one left on my team again and there was no way I was quitting and eating a 30 minute ban. I highly suggest that you don’t quit any more games if the same scenario arises, unless you are done for the day/night, otherwise the times are going to accumulate. Submit a support ticket about this.

Not sure why he linked to an Infinite Tweet - probably just mixed the two up.

This has clearly broken but I havent seen 343 acknowledge it yet.

Has anyone else also noticed that they got banned for quitting a Firefight game? You used to be able to quit in Firefight, FFA, and Infection without getting banned, but I just quit a Firefight game because I had a teammate constantly weakening me so the enemy would kill me, and I got banned for it? Is this new?

It seems to be - not sure where it came from, or why.

Halo Support does not confirm the issue, although they asked to submit a ticket.
Not sure if it helps, but it might be worth it.

A quote from the support agent:
"We will send this information to our developers so they can investigate the issue with more detail. If you know any other players that are encountering the same issue, please ask them to submit a ticket so we have more information.

At the moment there is no workaround for this, however, we will reach back to you once we have more news to share."

Support closed my ticket and marked it as solved because they thought I was trying to appeal a ban. I have since submitted another one, making sure I’m very clear that I’m trying to let them know that there’s an issue with the ban system, not that I’m trying to appeal a ban.

I even made mention that there are others experiencing the same problem and posting about it on the Waypoint forums and they still interpreted it as me trying to appeal

I actually encountered the same situation as you described. They closed my ticket as well due to a ban appeal. So I actually got a bit out of line to keep the ticket open. I had also included two topics about this on HW support, to let them know it occurs on quite a large scale.

A well, we’ll see if they will fix it before support of MCC ends at the end of the year.
It is just so frustrating to get a ban while at least two other players already had left the game.
Especially because I still have those weard disconnection issues so now and then…
