The temporary quit ban is the single most annoying part of Halo. When the teams are so unevenly matched and I’m constantly getting put with morons who betray me or are AFK or are just plain awful at Matchmaking I should not be penalized for getting out of a match. Not getting credits for completing the match ought to be enough. I can understand the ban in Arena since its a ranked playlist but all the other lobbies are social playlists. Every time I get quit banned I stop playing Reach altogether. I’d rather put the game away than sit in the lobby or play the campaign for the umpteenth time for ten minutes. And I can bet I’m not the only one who does this. Why Bungie/343 would support a system that prevents and, more importantly, discourages playing I can’t understand.
The Credit System they have now lacks an actual incentive to stay in the match once you’re losing. To combat it, they inputted the quit ban, and it’s one of the flaws of MM considering that you aren’t concerned with quitting as much as the previous ranking system (since you neither gain nor lose anything for quitting) and even if you did lose credits for quitting, they don’t count much for anything in Reach once you get your chosen armor perms and won’t be missed.
Nonetheless, the quit ban is necessary in Reach since it provides an incentive (albeit, a negative incentive) to stay in games, even if you’re losing.
The best way to deal with it is to revamp the system entirely by making it so that quitting out is significantly detrimental to you, but also a stricter Trueskill ranking (not necessarily 1-50) to make it more likely that you play with people of your own skill so that games aren’t so unevenly matched in score.

I agree. The lack of maturity w/in a significant percentage of the community is just disappointing.
