Quinn's comments on stream regarding weapon tuning

If you go to about 1:09:00 that’s when Quinn is on with Ske7ch.

Here are the changes that I remember being talked about on stream (meaning changes to how the weapons worked in the weapon tuning playlist):

Gunfighter Magnum:
Accuracy increased, faster to pull it out.

Railgun:
Charge time shortened, you can hold the charge longer.

Battle rifle:
Red reticle range shortened, accuracy improved, recoil reduced.

Assault rifle:
Rate of fire increased, damage decreased, decreased spread when firing in fully automatic.

Frag grenade:
Damage radius reduced, explosion graphics decreased and better match the actual damage radius (before, the graphics were bigger than the actual damage radius).

Splinter grenade:
Initial damage greatly reduced, but once set up the damage of the grenade is the same as it has been.

If I messed something up please feel free to correct me. What are your thoughts?

It may be worth noting their changes in regards to their current status and not just in reference to how they’ll change from the state they were in within the weapon tuning playlist.

Yep that seems to be the message they were sending despite being a bit cryptic about the weapon changes. I’m glad to see that they listened a lot to the weapon test feedback and realized making weapons worse at their intended roles or adding more bloom and inaccuracy is not the way to go.

What seems to have caught my attention is the BR/GF Magnum initial load out they seem to be pushing in competitive settings. I don’t know how many in the HCS and Arena would react to that. Many are so accostumed to the Magnum only for six months that this will be a shock for them. Only time will tell if this will be accepted or rejected.

Yea I asked Tashi about whether pros were informed of the changes and how much they we’re involved in the whole process. It’s definitely going to be bumpy the first couple of weeks.
Change in general will be viewed negatively.
But I do think it will make games more interesting and strategic. No more cross map Magnum kills and more emphasis on getting certain weapons for certain situations.
Here’s hoping.
