Quicktime Events. What if you fail?

So when there’s a quicktime Event in a game your player normally has to press certain buttons like tap A rapidly etc. So it bought me to this picture . This picture makes me think of a Quicktime Event so what if we was to mess up on this stage. Would the Elite stab master chief with its energy sword will there be lots of blood?

What im saying we are not use to seeing Master chief getting killed in major ways. So how gory will these quicktime events get if someone fails it.

Let me know what you think

I’m expecting something like this to happen.

Seriously, though. Nothing too major, just something similar to the Zealot Ambush in the first mission of Reach.

I hope it’s not terrible like the Rat QTE in BF3.

QTE in Halo 4? I didn’t realized that was confirmed lol

I am not a fan of QTEs in FPS, works in TPA games like God of War or TPS like RE 4/5. Rather just watch my cutscenes like a movie

Of course, if the games can be a bit more on…realistic terms of war (more gore and stuff but like Ninja Gaiden 2 or Gears of War).

Does this mean im suppose to see the same garbage in theater?

Since when did they confirm quicktime events? I heard they’re putting in cinematic gameplay experiences, but not quick time events.

Although i wouldnt mind them, it sorta seems like a natural addition. As long as its only a select few scripted events. Not like “You’re being melee’d, press X now to counter!”…

I have never had a problem with quick time events unlike seemingly the entire rest of the world.

I’m not complaining.

Mash X to not die. Sigh.

The first Force Unleashed games QTE’s soured the whole thing for me. There was enough QTE’s in that game to last me a lifetime.

Quick time events… in Halo… sigh

What’s that? Something else from COD?

> What’s that? Something else from COD?

Call of Duty didn’t invent EVERYTHING. Holy Crap people lol. I don’t mind QTE as long as there aren’t a million of them. Once in a great while is ok.

> What’s that? Something else from Shenmue?

Please, if you knew your games well enough you would know COD didn’t come up with QTEs.

So fix’d.

Let’s not bash COD and derail the thread. It’s not a bad one at that.

> What’s that? Something else from COD?

Did CoD invent QTE’s? Because I’ve seen them in older games before CoD.

OT- Chances are if you fail a QTE you may die. But we’ll have to wait and see what actually happens

I don’t think I want to live on this planet anymore

COD did not invent QTEs.

The term ( and usage) was popularized and coined Yu Suzuki in his game Shenmue (look it up)

Though for me, QTEs became quite popular after RE 4 was released.

I know CoD didnt invent them. It was a Sarcastic question, but I sort of worded it wrong to make it seem that I didn’t know.

I really hated QTEs in the battlefield 3 campaign and i hope it will not be in halo 4.

Yeah saw that edit, my bad man.

Hard to detect sarcasm on the internet sometimes.
