Quick-Time Events

How do y’all feel about including quick-time events in Infinite’s campaign similar to those featured in H4?

A big fat no

Personally I’m not a fan of quick time events, I’d much rather have a cinematic if you’re looking for that kind of thing.

well
it really didnt make sense
and it wasnt smoothly integrated into the game, combat wise so i hope not.
it also does not make much sense lore wise because of chiefs fast reactions and strength

Eh, nah, never really enjoyed them.

Gonna have to be a hard pass for me, they never felt immersive in the fps experience and I really dont think it belongs in Halo tbh. maybe in some spin off series but not the main title.

No!

This is amazing feedback guys! I had a feeling this would be the outcome but thought it’d be amusing to run a test. 100% negatory. Those quick-time events really did suck, eh?

Waste of campaign gameplay, never liked scripted events. Its just breaking the creative and challenging aspect of a moment if all you do is time an action to victory.

Idk, I enjoyed being told to “Press RT to fire machine gun.”

But, a no for me also. I found QTEs have the opposite of their intended effect: I feel more detached from the action than I would be if playing the sequence in its entirety or watching a cinematic.

The only really scripted moment I like from Halo 4 was when Chief was climbing up the elevator shaft in the beginning and you had to dodge the debris, but even that felt a little too much like the game was holding my hand telling me where to go. Any button mashing qte I can do without to be honest.

Not really a fan of quick time events, especially for the end game boss! (Looking at you Halo 4!! So lame!)

'least we got an epic boss battle with Jul 'Mdama in H5

I’m personally a fan of QuickTime events.
I know a lot of people disagree, but seeing your hand in front of you pushing a button or switch was much more immersive than having it light up by itself.

That said, if what’s happening is something important or looks amazing, I’d much rather have a decent cutscene.

I hate qtes. No skill, no satisfaction.

Especially when you can’t fail. There are sequences in certain games where you have to rapidly input a series of button mashes within a short period of time and that can be ok at times to get across something you couldn’t actually do in the game but yeah still.

QTEs need to be bushed.

I’ve never really been a fan of QTE’s. Would rather them not be in the game.
