Warning, Campaign footage below
I don’t think they belong in Halo
That’s just my opinion though…

If it is, oh dear…
What next, killcams?
They dont function in the same way as a Quicktime event, but they force you to fight back using the triggers and things you would do in a normal situation, so there are some similiarities I suppose.
Ironically killcams are confirmed already, lmao.
meh, 1 or 2 button mash or action sequences wont bother me any just gimme my AR back after there over and i’m good

Sounds like a quick time event to me lol.
Were not playing first person God of War here… come on :((
it’s fuuny cuz they showed killcams
That was from the first mission, the elevator shaft!
It might be a quick time event, and I think they’ll work. I don’t think there will be too many.
Why don’t you think it belongs in Halo?
Next time please put a spoiler warning in your post if you’re showing Campaign footage.
> Why don’t you think it belongs in Halo?
Because I feel like it messes with the open sandbox feel of the game.

Sorry about that bro.

Hm…if there were a lot of them, then I might agree. If there are just one or two sprinkled in every so often I think it could work. The player might not even be controlling the Chief in that shot. It might be a change in camera angle to see things from MC’s point of view as he climbs the elevator shaft. edit although, looking at it closely, it does kinda seem like the player is in control.
Doesn’t look like a traditional quick time event to me.
There’s no flashing buttons on screen yelling “HEY PRESS THIS OR YOU’LL DIE!” like in other games that use them (though, they may have been / will be added later after that build, but who knows yet), and it looks like there’s more control over what you’re doing than what happens in QTEs.
I’m not too worried about it either way.

This. Though I’d still prefer no such setpiece at all.
What I’m almost certain be a QTE, though, is John punching the Elite or the Knight in the face. There was no button prompt there, as one would expect in such a scenario.

True, but the we have already seen things like punching elites in the face. Like on Winter Contingency in Halo Reach.
But this… this really looks like you have to hit LT and RT to avoid the garbage falling on you.
I said this in a post w while back “as long as it’s done nicely it wont be too bad - may even immerce you in the moments more”
What looked like the Chief pulling out some core then slamming it back in looked just what i was after.
Nice i was overall very impressed with this video.
I am tired of seeing people say what does and doesn’t belong in halo, it is not for them to say.

Sure it is, because it’s an opinion.
