🤣 Quick Question

Whats up with this skull when you die? Look like something you might see in Unreal Tournament   That sure does not look like something from a Halo Game?

Are you talking about the kill effect that players can put on their guns so that when they kill someone, it makes a flaming skull burst out to mark their death?

I believe this is how oddball players view the objective. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

HAAHAA WOW! IMHO looks like 343i is making 50% Halo Infinite skins with 50% Unreal Tournament skins wannabe with funny skins and such. Not in the Traditional Halo way of doing things! :frowning:

???
Halo has had this type of stuff since Halo 3.

  • Hayabusa ninja armor in reference to Ninja Gaiden
  • Flaming helmet in Halo 3
  • Armor Effects, Emile’s custom helmet, and the Haunted helmet in Halo Reach.
  • Half of the cosmetics in Halo 4 and Halo 5 being doofy stuff unironically (Timmy, Fotus, and Olive helmets especially)

And if you think about it, the Councilor Elites in Halo 2 with their ridiculous helmet crests is pretty outlandish.

At first, I thought it was to show you died from a headshot

Durrrrr Gargoyle helmet so cool and agile, I can’t wait to spend money on it so I can be cool and silly!!! Durrrrrrrr

I’m just pointing out that the occasional funny thing is fine. Do it too often however and it gets irritating.
*glares at Halo 5 Guardians and how only 40% of the armors are attractive

Would be a better way of approaching it honestly

Pick one.

Shoutout to Unreal Tournament! I loved playing that game. The skull though is just an effect. Something sorta like the Halo Reach items. Sure is fun!

It’s a kill effect from the battle pass. You can attach kill effects to each individual weapon, which means the more you have the more you can show off in game. I like the one I have where they get encased in neon pixels

I feel like the dev team are big fans of For Honor, because most of this stuff is practically carbon copied from that game

The kill effects aren’t much different than the old armor effects IMO. I also do like how you can attach different effects to different weapons.

Oh, yeah, that’s just a kill effect someone put on their gun to happen to people they kill.

Thanks guys for the heads up! I just use the stock Spartan skins! IMHO The other skins look too silly for me

It’s not really that different from the birthday party death effect in Reach MP tbh. You just get to have the other person get effected instead of you

Halo reach also had armor effects like the inclement weather and such.

Have to agree here as well as it’s even a better example of a kill effect… So yeah Halo has technically has had it before. Also the whole other games have done it argument can’t really be used any more… Mario from Super Mario Brothers on the original Nintendo could sprint…so does that mean every game after it copied that game?
