quick question

I know that with the treaty between humanity and the covenant no one is allowed on the halos…does this include the ark?

Well considering that the UNSC decided to go to installation 03 anyway after the war to research (where they found the composer and later where MC was deployed in the escalation comics), I doubt either sides uphold this part of the treaty now. If it was decreed anyway then yes, I think the Ark would still count as a Halo not to go near.

I’m sure the treaty would have worded it “Forerunner Installations” … as for Installation 03 and the treaty, there must have been some sort of amendment or little section of the treaty that stated what Lasky says in Halo 4, which is that it’s been Infinity’s job to track down the remaining Halo rings.

I doubt the UNSC would agree to not visit any of these sites then send their biggest ship to try and find each one. There must have been some sort of agreement allowing them to do so … especially since no one in the Covenant was in any position to say “no”.

Because if not, Ivanoff Station would have been entirely illegal. And going to Requiem may have been as well if it weren’t for the Forward Unto Dawn’s emergency beacon being received. Of course, they got Requiem’s coordinates from 03, so …

What I got from Nightfall was that no one was allowed to go to the remains of Installation 04, specifically. But they probably don’t want Covenant factions running around on 05 either … especially since it’s full of Flood.

So we really don’t know the details. It seems to be more along the lines of “We won, so we’re going to research these places and reverse engineer some tech. You lost, so get lost.”

Didn’t the treaty just mention Installation 04? That may explain why the UNSC has “taken over” 05 and 03, and I also remember that 07 is controlled by both the Sangheili and the UNSC.

ok, so I read on here and halo wiki that the Ark was not destroyed(which I never really believed it was) and that it still held some life forms on it, is this in reference to the Flood or wheat ever was there b4 truth and the Loyalists went there?

During a scouting mission to the ruins of Installation 00 in June 2557. UNSC was alerted by a Forerunner signal. In response, the Rubicon stealth ship was deployed to the area from Luna, carrying specialist remote contact teams and ONI scientist. Damage dealt to the Ark’s life support systems, the rescue teams were forced to brave extremely hostile conditions on the surface in search of the signal’s origin. Contact was lost with all teams after eight days; only one team returned with heavy casualties. However, they succeeded at recovering the beacon’s source - the remains of 343 Guilty Spark himself.

UNSC records state the ship as lost with all hands. The truth 343 overid the ship Ai and explained to the crew that he was going to resume his quest to find the Librarian and restore his old friends, Riser and Vinnevra, back to life. Asserting that the Librarian was still alive, he put the crew to sleep and continued on to do so.

Yes, ONI has been there since. It’s where they found Chakas/Spark in Primordium.
