Quick question, why cod?

It seems as if everyone is making the COD comparison. Why is it we compare this game to COD? If im not mistaken, just about every shooter on the market has these sort of features. Why do we chose to compare it only to call of duty?

Exactly. There are games that I like that use some of these things.

Exactly. If you like those games, then why cant it be in halo? If they were to just remove that halo from the title and call it something else, most people would love the concept.

Why? Some features, or features similar to those coming in Halo 4 have previously existed in CoD. Some fans in the Halo community do not like CoD, and Halo fans are known to be CoD-haters. Since they think of CoD negatively, they say that the features similar to those used previously in CoD titles are negative because they were in CoD. It’s kind of a way for them to get their point across that they disapprove of changes coming in Halo 4, by calling it CoD. Because in the community’s eyes, CoD = bad.

b/c CoD: 4 was the one that introduced many of them and since then the majority of games out there have copied it in order to appeal to it’s fan base and make more money.

Halo and CoD have had a rivalry since both were created back in the early 2000s. These little things that 343 have brought into Halo are the same little things that have separated the two, but now Halo is just selling out to the CoD style instead of staying true to itself.

I would rather have had Halo die out peacefully than to see it evolve into something that it’s not. Bungie knew this.

but ALL of the new features are things that exist in SHOOTERS not JUST COD.

Customization of weapons and instant re spawn dont necessarily equal COD.

True, but they are little things that have separated CoD from Halo in the past. Halo doesn’t need these things in order to be great, but apparently some don’t care about Halo’s dignity as long as it’s got the latest trends that every other game these days has.

Halo used to be a unique game that was the last of it’s kind, but Bungie took those days with them when they walked away.

Weapon loadouts are fine with me. Once we arnt spawning with a massive advantage over our opponent. And instant re spawns. I really dont get the problem. (we cant -Yoink!- though.

Because CoD is a class-based FPS, and since saying CoD is easier than saying class-based FPS, everyone just says CoD.

Although i dont support the changes, some people are just butthurt about how popular COD is compared to reach.

Call of Duty spawned these features into the FPS genre. Now no video game has the bravery to try something different. We never wanted to see Halo fall to this infestation.

They compare to COD because it is the “mainest” of the mainstream.

it should be like metriod prime…
