If you don’t know, it’s from the end of Halo: Reach. The year is 2579 when this is on the planet. And Halsey’s voice over talks of ‘rebuilding.’
So what could this be? Is this a hint at humanity’s adaption of Forerunner tech a la Infinity?

Most likely. It’s probably a major spoiler when you think about it. No matter how epic and scary this new villain is you know Humanity recolonizes burned worlds in about 30 years. Then again it could actually be a Forerunner ship.

You could say the Halo: Encyclopedia is a huge one too since it makes no mention of some universe threatening evil.

Or it could be an unknown colony ship
Sigh Halsey was talking about reach and how they are obviously rebuilding the planet, the ship is a clear example of the incorporating technology from the war.
The new evil is an isolated event that the whole of humanity isn’t going to be involved with.
