Quick question re Comms/Mic

Just got a couple of questions re those queuing solo with a mic:

  1. When the match doesn’t start exactly how you want it to, have you ever thought about not badmouthing your entire team and sighing and swearing straight away; and maybe focusing on your own game and helping out w/ callouts?

  2. What are you hoping to achieve by #1?

I’ve called these people out using the text chat and it’s amazing how quiet they are afterwards. It actively puts me off solo queuing with a mic - which isn’t ideal with my setup anyway - knowing these losers are hiding in the mist, ranting about how useless everyone is whilst they go 5:9 and then quit. Grow a pair.

2 or 3 years ago, I switched communication to friends only.

No more screaming angry kids

TBH, if I was playing poorly, I wouldn’t mind the screaming, but usually I was carrying and they were getting killed the other side of the map and expecting me to mindlessly follow them around like their personal bodyguard when they were usually pushing the wrong way.

Never regretted it, I can read the game without listening to Brad and Chad and it also changes your messaging to friends only so no tilting messages afterwards either.

I sleep well at night knowing my silence gets them angrier and angrier without me ever hearing them

It’s definitely a solution, but when you do get someone doing callouts etc. it seems a shame to miss out on that info (there are good people out there…).

100% with you on the bodyguard stuff. I think my favourite is when they die and they shout ‘behind you!!!’ like it’s your fault. If they’d pointed that player out beforehand, we’d probably have teamed up and killed him. But that isn’t as interesting to them as screaming, weirdly.

I agree but the Brads outweighed the sensible, good players at least 10 to 1.

I know enough people in real life that play now and built up enough of the good guys over the years to have people to match up with when I want to play crazy sweat serious but like I say, as long as I make sure I’m pushing where necessary, playing objective and looking at flanks, I can do my part without the whining (if anything, better).

You know how quick a post on here can flare up and become war with so many tangents no-one can keep up, having that happen in game just gets me banned there too :joy:

You’re probably right - I’ll give it a shot. I don’t have that base of people I know IRL who play the game regularly - maybe I should encourage them as another way to get around the Brads.

Maybe they don’t realize what they are saying or think their mic is on mute. Not enough people getting active on the Mic on Infinite and it’s a shame.

Mostly because 343 have mic disabled as default when u boot up the game which is friggin bizzare :woman_shrugging:

‘Maybe they don’t realize what they’re saying’ seems a bit sympathetic.

Mics off by default is definitely a problem, but people being awful to each other unprompted is definitely not 343’s fault, despite the game’s many issues.

Dunno, I usually don’t match with folks using gamechat. Whenever I do, I chime in or pay attention to their callouts.

I’ve gotten a few of these guys in Solo/Duo queue. I usually send them a message after the game along the lines of “lol u mad bro”

Haven’t gotten a response yet
