Can I get it by becoming a champion or will I forever have one locked armor?
Are you asking about the HCS Athlon set, or the Challenger set? Because if so, I’m afraid you’ll likely not ever have a chance at those again. They were in preparation for the HWC tour and HWC Finals, respectively.

Again, getting #1 Champion in any playlist will have no effect on your ability to get any armor in this game. Both of the ones I mentioned above were available for a limited time only through special REQ packs. One was $9.99 or 80,000 RP, and the other was free if you watched the Halo World Championship Finals, either live or on Video On Demand, but the time to watch on demand has passed as well.

He is right it was free but for about a day you just had to go to the xbox store and it was right at the top for you to download

So where’s your support? Where is your cited sources saying you can get athlon champion by becoming a champion in arena? Athlon champion and Challenger are both locked out now bud. If you didnt get them when they were available you cant get them at all. (unless they release them in the future)
I’m pretty sure you can still get them via REQ packs
just like the special Christmas emblems etc - its unlockable through REQs.
