Quick play

It sucks for me because I’m level 34 and I’m only playing level 120+ . I played on game with level 40s and 50s and I got 34 kills but now I only get 7 kills a game because I’m playing level 120+ what do I do

As most people would say, rank doesn’t matter, skill does

Op, getting 30 kills in a slayer is unusual normally people average around 10-12. The matchmaker is probably putting you with better players in order to have a more balanced match.
As someone else suggested you can get a better idea of how good a player is by checking their service record after the game.
In general SR (30, 120) doesn’t show how good someone is because it is based off of time played/XP earned. CSR (gold ect.) is a better gage of a player’s skill because it is based of winning games. In social playlists your skill rank is hidden and the matchmaker allows a wider skill gap.

Also quick play is a new playlist so the matchmaking system doesn’t know how good you are. That’s likely why your first games where easier. You can experiment with searching on focused vs expanded to see if you get better games.

Edit: my original post could have been clearer/more helpful

Just keep playing. Level doesn’t mean much it’s their CSR you should check (by clicking on their service record) I’ve met many 120+ who I’ve been surpirsed they know how to use the controller properly with how they perform in games

CSR (competitive? spartan rank, silver, plat, diamond) actually shows how good someone is. In social playlists your skill rank is hidden and the matchmaker allows a wider skill gap.

First of all…

If you have a high SR, you have played the game longer. That means you know the game/maps/strats better. That means if you put a level 120+ against a 30+ (no smurf, a legit level 30+), the 120 have a much greater chance at winning. I’m not saying all high leveled players are good though.

Second:

Having a low CSR doesn’t mean you’re bad. It just might show you’ve had a bad matching, solo que, etc. Having a high CSR doesn’t nec mean you’re good either. Some people get boosted by smurfs because they’re too bad to reach a high CSR.

Take that into consideration before saying what everyone else are saying.

So if I’m reading this right SR has nothing to do with skill? SR shows how much time you put into the game. 9 times outta 10 higher SR (120+) is a solid player. The only way rank means a -Yoink- if it is in FFA. But arena is trash. That’s a different topic.

You’ve played the game longer, so you’re more likely to know the game/map/strats better. Considering that SR can be bolstered with XP cards, losing matches, or just playing Firefight all day, it doesn’t really transfer eveywhere.

Not really much different from Halo Reach’s ranks. Sure you meet that Noble or Inheritor, but it turns out he just abused a bunch of challenges to get up there and he’s really not that good in slayer.

Yes, how much time one puts into the game, not how much time one puts into the game *mode.*Solid doesn’t mean good. If they’re a low rank, they’re a low rank, SR doesn’t change that.

It’s social so you’re going to get games with bad and good players over time.

I’m 145 and not amazing. SR does not equal skill.
