Quick Guide on Playing Objectives Responsibly

I figured I would write something up because I see constant team killing exercises being carried out every single day.

-Don’t drive your team’s warthog away by yourself. You have mongooses, ghosts, and lifts to use for traveling alone. The exception of course lies in situations where you are picking up teammates. Ex. Teammate carrying the flag

-Don’t pick up a power weapon and proceed to get in a vehicle. This is a textbook way to hurt your team. It serves you no use while in the vehicle. An exception would be if you are fantastic with the laser, sniper, railgun, rockets, or any other projectiles while sitting in the passenger seat (unlikely).

-Don’t camp a weapon spawn. Its a waste of time and hurts your team.

-Don’t sit in the back of a warthog and use the turret with no driver. Once again, serves no purpose to your team or yourself for that matter. Also, I don’t think many people will trust a gunner like yourself after being seen in that situation.

-Don’t betray your teammates because they take your power weapon. This -Yoink- has gone on long enough. Yeah, betrayals are hilarious. Killing your teammates for their power weapon isn’t. Its just childish and it has gone on in Halo ever since I can remember.

-Think about using a loadout that is actually helpful for the specific playlist. For example, consider a plasma pistol when playing BTB or CTF, as they involve vehicles; vehicles that play crucial roles in deciding your team’s fate.

-PLAY THE OBJECTIVE. No one is impressed that you went 30-4 in Capture the Flag while you watched your team get destroyed trying to win the game. You know whats impressive? The guy who goes 14-16 and gets two flag captures. Go play slayer if you aren’t going to contribute. Playing defense is one thing, but treating everything you play like slayer is detrimental to the people who play the game the right way. Stay by the flag and kill the enemies trying to take it at least?

-VOTE RESPONSIBLY. God. I had this discussion the other day. Yeah, maybe you like Complex and Abandon, but that doesn’t make them good for every game mode. It is absolutely atrocious playing them in game modes like Capture the Flag because they are the farthest thing from symmetrical. In game modes like CTF, symmetry and balance mean EVERYTHING.

-Finally, have fun. Everyone deserves to play this game and have fun. When you do easily avoidable things like some of the stuff mentioned above, you ruin it for everyone else. Then they can’t enjoy the game. Please just use common sense and don’t be an -Yoink-.

You can call me all kinds of names for trying to tell you how to play but I’m just tired of seeing this crap every time I play Halo. Respect the game and others

the lack of vehicle skill in Halo lately makes me want my Hornet back even sooner
so i can final get a vehicle kill without retribution

in the ghost… its paper
in the tank… little kids betray me for it
in the goose… its not a combat vehicle
in the hog… too many bad gunners/drivers

i love vehicles, the way they sound, the way they shoot, the way they work
but all these little kids driving them around ruins my fun

Yeah it seems as if the lists get longer and longer. In my opinion, not just the games, but the players have gone so far downhill. I think the franchise peaked at Halo 3.

This stuff occurs far too frequently.
