This is just off the top of my head:
-
Add an increased Req gain rate when destroying the enemy core in increments of: The first 10 minutes, 5 minutes, and finally 3 minutes.
-
The same system but change it so you just get a bonus req pack for quick coring the enemy team. Killing the core in the first 10 minutes gives 3 bronze backs, killing it in the first 5 minutes affords 2 silver packs, and killing it in the first 3 minutes affords 1 gold pack.
Halo 5 is the first halo to have a major gametype where this “farming” is possible, due to the mechanics of how Warzone works, the INFINITE timer on the game, and massive discrepancies in player skill gaps when it comes to a team versus randoms. In previous halo titles you could have massive blow outs, but those games ended in a timely fashion, or at the very least around 15 minutes, depending if it was slayer or an objective game that could be nefariously drawn out, but not extended forever (besides holding the flag in single flag CTF or assault in halo 2 lol).
So for the life of me, I don’t understand why 343i doesn’t take very easy steps to reduce this by deincentivizing farming kills, only capping 2 bases and so on. In halo 2 and 3, if there was a way to play against a ton of people, in a game where it didn’t end except when a massive amount of slow accumulating points got to a 1000 that allowed massive kill farming, people would have been ALL OVER THAT. But Bungie had enough sense to see exploitable game mechanics in gametypes and didn’t make something akin to what Warzone is now.
Change it 343i, for the love of god.
