Ok. In the campaign, why does everyone seem to be really pissed off at the chief??? Is there something I missed or has it just not been explained yet? Thanks in advance.

Well what’s her face seems to be negative towards him, but probably just because he is more bad -Yoink-. But at the beginning halsey is being interoggated and the interogater is pissed off at chief and wants to “replace him”. There is more to it than just Del-Rio.
Because Chief is peanut butter and they’re all jelly.
The beginning guy that was talking to Halsey probably wanted to replace the Chief with a better Spartan, but Halsey says that he is MIA and that you shouldn’t underestimate him.
So to me, he was asking Halsey to make a better Spartan, to which she responds that there is no better Spartan than John.
Del-Rio is the kind of guy that will be leaving a failing ship before the civilians, he only cares about himself and he saw Chief and Cortana as a threat.

Anyway, Del Rio is just overcompensating for something, the ONI interrogator isn’t really pissed at Chief, he just wants his combat skill at the disposal of ONI or the UNSC, and Palmer wasn’t really negative either. They hardly even interacted.
John is, to some, ‘outdated’ material. Especially those at ONI. The S-IV and S-III programs were both cheaper to fuel and had a higher success rate. John is going on 50 or so here in a few years, and honestly give him another 10 or 20 and he’ll be a shell of his former self.
Del Rio’s just a paranoid bunghole because he /knows/ Parangosky doesn’t like him and that it’s more her ship than Hood’s, whatever the formal agreement.
Palmer’s the head of the S-IVs… who I think hold S-IIs in similar regard as ODSTs did.
ONI interrogator… most likely talking about S-IV program.
