Questions I have about certain reqs in H5

  1. Is the halo combat evolved magnum a permanent unlock?

2.what other (Weapon or vehicle) reqs are permanent?

3.What modes are best for getting rp the fastest but don’t take 3 years to find a match for.

I’m a bit new to H5 but not new to the old games. Any tips would be considered helpful

All loadout weapons (AR, BR, Magnum, DMR, SMG, and Halo 2 BR) are permabent REQs and can be used infinitely. These are shown with a gray outline around the REQ card.

All vehicles and power weapons (such as the CE Magnum) are single-use REQs. Opening packs will give you Certifications for single-use REQs, which are permanent, but Certifications just mean that specific REQ will be more common in future REQ packs you open. The single-use REQs themselves are still consumable if you have the certification.

Any Warzone mode is by far better than Arena modes for getting xp. Mythic Warzone Firefight is the fastest.

Either Firefight mode is a very good choice for earning RP.

They should really consider revamping the Req pack system. It’s so dated and at this point most players have all the Req certifications and it feels like you can’t go for certain gear you want.

They should consider an RP shop. Where you can save up and spend RP on specific gear you’re certified for, with RP costs getting drastically more expensive the higher tier you go.

Like let’s say you just want to stock up on some regular Carbines or Light Rifles because you prefer them to the UNSC utility weapons. Those should be cheap, letting you easily buy like 30 for the price of a single Hannibal vehicle, or Prophet’s Bane. And obviously the upgraded versions of the weapons would become more and more expensive the more powerful they are.

Also, real money should NOT be spendable in this RP store. It should only continue to be spendable on traditional Req packs (honestly it shouldn’t even be spendable there, but at this point there’s no fighting it).

I provided feedback suggesting something very akin to this idea multiple years ago. It’s on my list of things I’d love to see changed for Halo 5 if this great title ever receives an overhaul reworking similar to what the MCC got. I can only hope.

  • The certification is, but the cards themselves are single use - Loadout weapons and armor mods are permanent. Certifications for vehicles and power weapons are permanent, but they are all single use ‘cards’ - Warzone Firefight - Use RP boosts. Only spend your RP on silver packs until those silver packs start refunding you 2 cards of RP each time you open them. At that time, you’ll have unlocked all the ‘lower tier’ permanent items at the lowest cost possible. Then move on to opening Gold packs. Do not spend RP on gold packs until then. Here’s a chrome plugin that helps you track progress: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/spartan-hub/cndpfepbgejcpednnkpbpmabijjoclpp/related?hl=en

Here are my perspective on all 3 of these questions.

The weapons in Halo 5 Warzone that are permanent are the Assault Rifle, Battle Rifle, DMR, Magnum, SMG and Halo 2: Battle Rifle and all of its variants with the exception of the Magnum called Whispered Truth.

My guess is that Mythic Warzone Firefight is the playlist that provides the greatest amount of req points for time played. Based on data collected from around 2114 Mythic Warzone Firefight games that I didn’t join in the middle of a match, a Mythic Warzone Firefight game lasts in average 15.5 minutes and yields around 3800 req points per game. This results in average of around 240 req points per minute played.
