Questions [Game Content Usage Rules]

Hello hello hello my fellow Halo fans/admins.

Alright, so I have some questions regarding Microsoft’s Game Content Usage Rules. You see, over the past year or so a friend of mine has been making a story to a Halo Machinima; now, thing is, he’s not a high quality production studio, it’s just him. Now he asked me if I knew about any models or things that could help him about in the production of his series. He said to me that before he begins making it, he wants to know if it’s okay to use/do the following.

Game Content rules can be found here: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/developer/rules

1: The term “Reach” in the name of a series, the rules say that the word “Halo” can’t be used in the name, so we don’t know if Reach is allowed.

2: If models such as these can be used: Halo Reach Spartan Ragdoll.zip | garrysmods.org

3: If it’s alright to have an implied relationship in the series/announced relationships.

4[More of a statement really]: That he wouldn’t make a profit off of it.

5: Mention and or show characters from the series, such as Noble 6, Dr. Halsey, ETC…

I’ll think of a few more he asked later, but as of now, those are the major things he needed answered.

Thanks!
[With my luck I probably posted this in the wrong forum]

You can use all of that, however, i have to only say, try to limit your story that has a connection to the Main Characters. Mentioning them verbally is fine, visually, no. Give you an example, my machinima mentions ONI a lot. You just have to put down in the credits that the game content is property of Microsoft. A little advice, i recommend whenever you film a machinima, always put down exaclty word for word from the Game Content in the credits. MS is very, very strict.

Alright, thanks!

What if I had a character, say, Dr Halsey, but had her face covered with a helmet or something of the sort?

And she was only referred to as “Doctor.”
