Say a Spartan wins a game of Slayer 50-47 and they finish at the top of their team with 17 kills and 15 deaths: Do you think that is considered a good player? On the one hand they lead their team to a victory by scoring a bulk of points, but on the other hand they also contributed to 15 of the opposing teams points.
I say they’re a good player because they get into a lot of firefights. Clearly they win a lot of them, but they also lose some too, and you expect to kill and be killed in an FPS like Halo.
You’re thoughts?
Well, you’re still positive(more kills than deaths) and you’re at the top of your team. Wouldn’t argue with you.
Unless I had roughly the same kills with way less deaths.
Firstly, I don’t judge someone’s skill based on a single game. I’d rather see how they play over several games.
Secondly, there’s more to it than just KD. What about assists? What about callouts? Do they help you out when you’re fighting the enemy, or do they cower behind cover, waiting until they have full shields(by which time you might be dead). Do they make risky or stupid plays? Such as wasting power weapons - we’ve all seen that guy who rushes into the enemy with rockets and gets killed, giving them 3 or 4 free rockets to use against you.
