I heard that the only ranked playlist on launch day will be H2A Team Slayer. However, on twitch i’ve seen many other playlists in matchmaking such as Halo 2, Halo 3 etc. will these not be ranked on launch day? If they are not, i think that is pretty lame since the core multiplayer fans of Halo enjoy a ranked, intense matchmaking game rather than a game played for fun. Well, at least that is the case with why i choose Halo over the excessive, and repetitive Call of Duty series.
I heard it is due to the fact that they havnt finished tuning the ranking system for the other halos, not quite sure though.
It’s probably going to be like the old Halo 2 ranking system.
Other playlists will slowly come online with ranking system. The main reason why only 1 is releasing on launch if for 343 to test it out and make sure players are not exploiting the system.
Once they are sure it’s wokring as inteneded all other playlists planned to be ranked will be. It’s better to reelase a sample of a system than release it game wide where people are eploiting it to death ruining the experience for everyone. Better for them to stomp those bugs out now than later. I for one don’t want to see another booster or deranker in my lobbies 24/7 like I did in the Halo 3 days for example.
It is true that the only available ranked playlist at launch is Team Halo 2: Anniversary, not just slayer. This includes all objective game types as well as slayer. However, they will still have skill matchmaking underneath the other playlists to ensure balanced matches.
People will be trying to exploit for higher ranks at the start and they want to ensure that they patch the exploits before rolling out ranked to all of the playlists.
The only ranked playlist will be H2A, all of the others might have hidden ranks, or might simply be social.
more ranked playlists will come out overtime, they just want to make sure everything is in working order.
